Have you joined a supper club yet? It’s the latest craze where you can enjoy good food, like these delicious recipes, and meet new friends or even get together with old friends again.
All you need to do is use our forum to find women just like you who would like to meet up every so often to share some good food and good conversation. You can have your supper club meetings as often as you like; you can limit recipes or leave the menus wide open; some clubs like to invite members to bring a dish along to every meal, others prefer to have the hostess provide all the food - it's entirely up to you.
Let us know how you get on - we're always interested in how our readers and website users run Supper Clubs and we're happy to pass on tips.

We started our supper club in Surrey in September. There are approx 10 members now. The first event was held at my house where 6 attended. It was considered by all as a great success with excellent food, wine and chat ! Next event for us is this month. Long may it continue.

I am interested in starting a supper/lunch club in Bournemouth Dorset. I have recently taken, (very) early, retirement from a senior management position in the finance sector. This was to enable me get a puppy, which I did and she is lovely, but I am now looking to make some new contacts.
Anyone interested?

Hello, I'm new to this message board, and was interested in the idea of supper clubs. However, reading through the posts on the subject, they seem to be aimed exclusively at women. Why is this? My husband and I have recently moved to a new area (north Essex) and would enjoy the opportunity to make some new friends. Neither of us particularly likes single-sex gatherings; do you think it would be acceptable if we organised a mixed supper party? Would like to know people's opinions on this.

Like yourself, I have tried to get a mixed supper club off the ground, but had no replies. I think the problem is that if you have young children, a woman only group may be better, so that OH can babysit etc. , but for us older members, who have moved to new areas, the supper club could be a general venue to make new friends. There are no rules that say it has to be single sex, no more than men joining the general discussion forum.

Yes, I rather assumed that as W&H is aimed at an older readership, then contributors to this message board would mostly be free from childcare issues. However, I wanted to tread carefully as there's been so much fuss about men joining in the discussions.

We have a supper club running in Milton Keynes which has turned out quite well. We started out as a single sex group and as we got to know one another we now include partners not all the time as its nice to go out and have time with the girls.

I know I'm not greatly accomplished as an IT user but navigating this site is driving me MAD!
I'm looking to get involved (or to start) a supper club in my area but can't find search lists for areas where they might be. Apart from the message board how else does one find out more please?

Hi Ann - and welcome to the Forum! So far, no joy on the Fife Supper Club 'launch', though three of us from around the Forth met in Edinburgh a few months ago and had a coffee together.
Let me know if you would like to meet somewhere central for a coffee. We could have a chat and consider ways to 'promote' a Fife Supper (or Eating Out) Club.

In the absence of any response to my enquiry re supper clubs near Tunbridge Wells, I am now considering starting one in the Crowborough area.
Friends and I already meet over a table on a regular basis, but would all enjoy widening our horizons and meeting new people.

Tried to get one up and running on the border of Beds and Cambs with no success. We now have moved to Cambridge with more success and there are four of us in the Cambridge Supper Club - always willing for more to join. PM me if you are interested or look under Cambridge supper club in the main menu to find out when we are meeting next.
(Must say that we have chosen to eat out at the present time although in time might move to homes - who knows!)

Nothing to do with a Supper club, but I noticed in your message that you are starting treatment for Breast Cancer.
I was diagnosed in September 2002 and finished surgery and treatment by April 2003.
I am sure all will go well for you. My tip is to ask as many questions as you can, and sometimes I would write things down to help me remember.
I now go for 6 monthly checks and take the drug Arimidex.
I try to stay healthy, but most of all enjoy every day.
There is a really good site, Ameona which sends out a quarterly magazine and has wonderful underwear. It is worth having a look at.

I'm a regular reader of Woman & Home but have only just signed up to the website - even though I'm very computer literate I find it complicated and difficult to use, is it just me?? I was just browsing the forum and saw you lived in East Grinstead, I live in Horsham and am looking to join a supper club, did you manage to join one. There is a West Sussex one starting and they are meeting in Arundel on the 18th June, I was hoping to get one a little nearer. Is there anyone in Burwell, Newmarket, Cambridge area interested in starting a new group as I'm told current Cambridge group is full. I believe original Cambridge group meet at local restaurants. I would be equally happy meeting at our own homes and cooking. I'm not a world class chef but love to mess about in the kitchen.

We started a Supper Club in Louth/Grimsby/Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire last year - although we enjoy our meetings hugely we have only four members and we would like to welcome a few more people to our suppers - sometimes at home and sometimes at a restaurant.

I'm Jackie,I'm 55 and have recently taken early retirement and moved back to Uk after living in Germany for many years. Hubby is still working there part -time and I'm missing my 'feminine support network' and going 'stir crazy'! Is there a Supper Club in Derby/Nottingham area ? I am new to this message board but think it a wonderful idea. I love to cook for people and enjoy good company and conversation.
I notice there are a few ladies interested in getting together with people in T/Wells area, and if this is the case I would love to either start a supper club (if there is enough of you who would like to join me!) or to join an existing one.
It would be wonderful to meet like-minded folk to share meals and ideas with.

Hi, I love reading Woman & Home Magazine. Sometimes I don't get an issue right away, living in the States, so I just read about the Supper Clubs. I started a "Supper Club" with three friends about 2 years ago. Every Month on the Second Tuesday we trade off picking a different restaurant to eat at. We call ourselves the "Dining Diva's". Its fun to catch up on the news and visit. I also love to travel and have been to the UK 5 times already. I just love visiting the UK with so much history. Would love to have some emails about how you do your Supper Clubs and what part of the Country your from. Thanks.

I live part of the year in Yemen and we were recently asked to a supper club with the theme of Italian food. It was for men and women which I think is much more interesting. The other good thing about this club is that there were different nationalities. For me I would prefer men and women at a supper club. Here in Yemen, we can only get UHT whipping cream, no mascarpone or double cream or creme fraiche. Desserts can be difficult! The fruit and veg are seasonal and very good, but other foods are difficult for expats, well for this expat anyway. Great fish if you like fish, which I unfortunately don't. Thought you would be interested in an overseas supper club.

Hello Sharon, I have just noticed your message as when I look on the Supper Club site I normally only search under 'Chester'. I live in Mold, just a few miles away from Buckley. Having moved here almost 6 years ago from Tonbridge after divorcing my husband I have found it very difficult to meet like minded ladies in the area.Originally from Glasgow I have no family or friends in this area moving here in order to get a larger house for my money to be able to downsize for some pension money in a couple of years time. I have tried internet dating with little success and I am determained that in 2008 I must get a new start and not be so lonely as I really never go out in the evenings and am too reserved to join a club or anything to meet people hence the supper club interest. I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, interests in travel, water colour painting and gardening.

Last time we met we decided to put a regular date in our diaries for the last wednesday of each month at 8pm Hall Place, Bexleyheath. The next few meetings will be

Last time we met at 8pm for a drink, and I think that this is what we will do next time - supper is available from the bar, but last time I was the only one who ate because I had only just made it in time from work.

Hi there, is there anyone in the Warwickshire area (I live in Rugby) who is interested in a Supper Club. I enjoy cooking (and especially eating) and am not fussed whether it's an eat in or out club or a bit of both. Let me know if you're interested. I'm a reasonably lively 60 (just) year old, don't yet need liquidised food!

I'm new to using this website although I have trolled around before.
For a while I have been thinking of starting a supper club and have suggested it to a few friends, mainly older single mums with no social life, which we would like to change.
I live near Bingley in West Yorkshire and would like to know if there is already a supper club in the area and if not if anyone would like to join us sad mums and get a social life?

Hi Tara, My name is Tricia I live in Coddington Newark. A group of ladies are meeting in Nottingham usually on a saturday once a month at different venues, due to other commitments on the chosen days I have not made it yet! As far as I know the next meet is on September 6th but it does not say where or what time at the moment(I have just checked the last postings for Notts/Newark). I am hoping to make it wherever it may be! Look forward to hearing from you.

I am part of the Notts/Newark supper club, but have lost the posts - do you think the next meet is the 6th? This will be my last meeting as I am moving away.

Having now been made redundant from a demanding HR post,Iam looking to start a supper club in the Chichester/Worthing area. Is there one already in operation or are there any like minded ladies out there wanting to join me?

Sounds like you have got a really good supper club going. I would like to start one. Is there anyone in the Tamworth area out there who would be interested?
Hopefully there will be some people local who would be interested. I have spent most of this weekend feeding people. I love to have dinner parties.

Did you get a supper club running in/near Crowborough. I live in Buxted and would be interested in starting one up/joining one. I know the post is a year old but just checking anyway

Have you started a supper club yet? I am new to the forum and was looking at old forum questions/answers.
I live in Ascot and know Camberley pretty well - saying that I know The Meadows rather well... if you have started a supper club I would be interested in joining.

I realise that you sent your message last year but I am new to the W&H forum and have just seen it! I am interested in joining a supper club in the Mold/Chester area as I live in Caergwrle and have only recently moved here. I would love to meet new people and enjoy nice food! Hi I am interesting in starting up a Supper Club in Sheffield/Barnsley South Yorkshire.
I think it is a great idea for people to meet up, have nice food and drinks and make new and interesting friends. Daytime or evenings. Any interest in this part of the country.

Harmony you might be better off starting your own thread on the supperclub board. This particular one is sooo long now its easy for things to get lost. Starting your own thread means that it'll be easier for you to see if anyone responds.
