I have several carpets needing cleaned and I'm reluctant to use either professional companies or hire a cleaning machine. Both in the passed have left my carpets with a smell of smoke and since we don't smoke it was unpleasant. That is the background so looking to purchase a new carpet shampooer/cleaner and your advice/experiences would be appreciated.

Hi
I purchased a carpet cleaner direct from Bissell via a newspaper ad about 4 years ago. I have been very pleased with the results the machine gives.. The machine is not too bulky to lug around or to store. The Bissell shampoo is a bit pricey though, but gives good results.
