are you learning something new today?
      #502587 - 07/11/2009 12:43

I am.
I will learn how to make window boxes. I have had in the past a kind lady who did all mine but now she is moving to Cornwall and so I decided to learn this skill.
She is coming today to teach me.
I know that it may sound ridiculous but I am quite hopeless at gardening,
I tend to kill everything in site so wish me luck.
I know what looks right i.e. colours and shapes but I havent yet been able to put them together myself. I am armed with gloves, notebook , pencils, glasses on a string so I will find them when needed. Ready for battle.
I will let you know how I got on.

I am learning to put my CD's onto my new(ish) laptop, in the hope that I might be brave enough to try an MP3 player this year! Bit scary two new bits of gadgetry in one year!!

We have friends around for dinner and I'm trying to make my first 'cassata'....its in the fridge/freezer now, fingers crossed it'll be OK for 8pm, if not they'll have to have plenty of limoncello!

I went to dance class and learnt a new dance routine.
Mr F. took me through the ins and outs of fixing a radiator to a wall.

Thank you for all your messages,
my window boxes look really nice and I did one all by myself and I am very proud of it.
Foxie I am very impressed with your radiator skills.Limoncello how did the cassata come out. I tried to make one with dried fruit trying to copy one they make in one of my favourite restaurants but it was a disaster.
I take my hat off to everyone who tries anything new in technology I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to things like that.
And finally if its any consolation, it always rains when I go to the hairdresser even in Italy in August, the only day of rain in the all summer it will be the day I go to have my hair done!

Hi italian06
Mr F did explain about fixing radiators, but it doesn't mean I was listening!!
