I have not worn my pedometer, not done enough steps, not gone walking and feel fat and unhealthy!!!! Now the weather has changed I am not able to go out walking in the cold air or cold wind without at least 3 layers over my chest, a scarf on my head and covering my nose and mouth. I HATE being wrapped up like this.
I have now faced the problem and found an alternative so that I still do my 30 mins walking every day like I have been told, not have to be in the cold air and achieve a reasonable fitness level. May even lose some weight this way.
I have just bought myself a good treadmill!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a foldaway one that I can keep in the lounge. When I am watching my CSI or NCIS most evenings I will use it then and then it wont be boring. Should be with me in about 10 days.
So watch out ................. there is a very remote chance that I might just make 10,000 steps a day!!!!

What a brilliant idea Thimble. Exercising whilst watching your favourite programmes - sounds good to me.
Trouble is, I have to go out in the cold - I don't think I could train my dogs to use a treadmill. I know some people manage it but I think my two, especially the Great Dane, are just too daft!!
Let us know how you get on.

Hi thimble, I was doing ok until the weather changed and then I suddenly didn't have the impetus (good word for a Saturday) to go out in the wet and wind. However, this morning I put on scarf, gloves and gillet and off I went. 11377 so far, not bad and I may go again for short walk after lunch. Good luck with your treadmill!!!!!!!! Ginny45 x

i bought a Leslie Sansone dvd last year for when the weather is bad, which is a walking dvd, sounds bizarre, but it's the only exercise dvd that I have ever done more than a few times.

Got my pedometer today so hopefully will start with it tomorrow. Have to read instructions. I am hopeless setting things up so will wait until hubby comes home to help me out.
Do any of you know roughtly how many steps you do when walking for half an hour. I know everyone will be different depending on how you walk but would just be interested to know roughly.
I have been good this week have been out every day for a half hour walk. Am so unfit, I come home the back of my hair is wet and I am shattered, and it is not even that I walk quicky.
