Hi there

We only had 3 days in Boston and the first one was a bit hampered by jet-lag! Seven days will be fantastic

We did enjoy the Duck Tour, although maybe you've done that before? Especially the bit when the vehicle drives straight into the river, and my boys got a chance to steer, along with the other kids, which they really loved

We also found the JFK museum very interesting - I know it's a bit of a drive and we went en route to Cape Cod - and could have spent ages there

Otherwise we did the walking tour, tracing all the historical sites, and ate at Faneuil Hall, watching the street entertainers - I actually recognised one from the Edinburgh Festival although he'd altered his patter for the American crowd quite markedly!

What struck me most about Boston was how incredibly polite everyone was; from children to old people their manners were impeccable

Mags

Thanks Scottishmags. Did Duck tour in Dublin and would certainly do it again in Boston. Thank you very much for your info - I am noting it all down.

There is so much to see and do in Boston. Try the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum - although this is advertised for its art collection it is a haven of calm too in a busy city being built round an inner courtyard. Visit the State House (it's on the trail), if you like views from above go to the top of the Hancock Building (there is another one I can't remember the name of), if you like seafood eat at Legal Seafoods. We enjoyed the Aquarium and also went out whale watching
(depends on the time of year I think). See if there is anything that takes your fancy at the Symphony Hall - we saw John Williams conducting the Boston Pop orchestra.

Have a great time.

Someone I work with has just returned. They loved Boston but felt the trip out to Cape Cod etc was not a good idea. It was very cold and lots of shops etc had closed for the end of the season. That said, they may open up again for Christmas, but I would check this out.

Hi We had four days in Boston we did the bus day two day ticket it was a good way to see the sights. we went to the prudential tower the viewing level was closed but the receptionist told us to go to the restaurant which is actually a floor above the viewing tower the price of a drink or a coffee is cheaper than the viewing level and you get amazing views
