I would love to know too - 8 windows with wooden blinds. I have been using a slightly damp cloth and then polishing with a dry one - takes for ever. I remember being told not to wet them as it would damage the wood. There must be some gadget out there....

Kim and Aggie say :
Every week : regular vacuuming will prevent dust from building up - use the upholstery tool and get into as many nooks and crannies as you can
Once a month : take a soft cotton glove, sock or tumble dryer sheet and carefully run it over each slat, from the centre to the outside edges, on both sides
That should keep you out of mischief Lillie, and if you vacuum your venetian blinds once a week you are a better woman than me!

Get someone else to do them!!!
I do what Scottish mags say's... I use the hoover. That job is the worst I think, sooner clean the oven than do the blinds.

There is a special tool for cleaning these blinds, available from Betterware if any of you have a rep in your areas. If not try Betterware on line. They are excellent little things that really make light work of cleaning the blighters. Other option is forget to put your glasses on!

I think Lakeland has a gadget too. Anyone tried it?

I have the Lakeland microfibre thing and it works, but is the most boring job in the world.
For speed, I close the blinds and hoover with the brush attachment. Once in a while, when the sun is shining and all the moons are in the right place, I waft around with the microfibre thing.

Shellseeker - I looked at that vac attachment on the Lakeland site, but the reviews were quite negative. Most said it doesn't work. What do you think?

I just close mine and rub all over with damp cloth. Done in no time! Dont worry if they move about a bit.

Hi Lillie. I recently bought some wooden blinds from this store http://digg.com/educational/Wooden_Blinds_2 and on the instructions that came along with the blinds I found this info: the slats should be cleaned using a feather duster or a vacuum on a low level. For stains and dirt, you should use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Hope this info helps.
