I remember wll my first winter in Scotland, it was a newbuild house on a new estate, no gas supply, so we had an electric fire in the living room, and an oil filled radiator in the bedroom. It was absolutely freezong that winter, and the windows froze up on the inside! Wasnt i glad when we finally got a gas suppply. Oh happy memories.
