HI tag,
Sorry to hear that you have been having such a rough time of it.I too suffer from I B S,and as though thats not bad enough I also have diverticular of the bowel I have been taking the peppermint capsules for several years now and find they do help, there is plenty of medication your doctor can give that might help you,if I get a particulary bad flair up I keep to a very light diet, but remember to drink plenty(NOT ALCOHOL)
L O L. I curl up in bed sometimes too with a hot water bottle on my stomach and it helps.Good luck hope you continue to keep better.
