You poor thing Susie, i started on the menpause a few years ago now and yes it was awful at the beginning, but it does get easier. There are lots of things on the market now to help you through it. It could also be a thyroid problem, that can make you feel rotten as well. Your blood tests will show what you need to know. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Susie

I really sympathise with you. My mum had such a rough time with the menapause that I went through my thirties absolutely dreading it. However, I was that one person in 100 who sailed through it. My periods just stopped and I had no sweats, hot flushes, mood swings etc. I was so lucky. Before I retired I had a staff of 72 women, and knowing how my mum suffered, I feel that I was very sympathetic with them. I agree about the thyroid problem. Three of my ladies suffered from this and I know that they were the three who suffered most with the menapause. I have my fingers crossed for you and hope that you find a solution very quickly. Try to stay positive, and get your GP to check out your thyroid and hopefully you won't have to suffer for much longer. I hope that your family are giving you lots of TLC. Take care

Sheila

You could still sail through it Susie, lots of people do. I had a bad time at the beginning but you do learn to live with it. If your hormone tests do prove positive there are lots of things available to help you through it. I think i have mentioned on the forum before that i wear a magnet on my underwear, and trust me, i dont know how it works but it does for me. The flushes and nightsweats calmed down almost immediately. I do hope you get sorted soon.

Suzie some ladies have no problems with the menopause other ladies do we are all different, but if something becomes too troublesome for you,you do not suffer in silence, you see your G P immediatly, there are plenty of medication on the market to help ladies through this time, although I have to admit I have never heard of Jaqi'smagnet cure.Good luck you will come through it.
