I've heard rumours that the side effects are more marked than with the annual flu jabs. Has anyone experienced this? Not that I seem to get any reaction to the ordinary flu jabs these days apart from a mildly sore arm for a day or two.
Just would like to be forewarned if necessary!

I have not had a swine flu jab and neither will I. If I start growing a curly tail and snorting, I might change my mind. I am also ignoring the figures on the TV too. Media hype. How can they know the numbers if they are not testing for it? It is absolutely impossible to say and they are just encouraging mass hysteria.
My mother is 84 and didn't have an ordinary flu jab last year. Consequently she had no flu, no colds and not even the smallest sniffle. Every year before that, when she had a flu jab, she had such awful flu, I thought she was going to die. Similarly this year she has had the jab and it seems a hell of a coincidence to me, that not that long afterwards she has had the most awful cold which sent her to her bed.

I had the swine flu jab yesterday and so far ok. I also had the seasonal flu jab 2 weeks ago so hopefully fully protected as I work in the NHS on the front-line.

My GP is only giving the swine flu jab to those in high risk groups rather than everyone who gets the usual flu jab. When I was in for the flu jab there was someone insisting all her family be given the flu and swine flu jabs because there were three children and how could she be expected to take time off work to look after them if they got ill!!! Some people! The receptionist politely explained the injections were for people who needed them and not just to avoid inconveniencing her busy life.

If I'm offered it, I don't know what to do. The medical profession seem to be divided on their opinions. My OH is in the 'at risk' category but seems adamant he won't have it but he has had the flu jab.

I'm still in two minds about this one. I've had a letter from my GP about it as I appear to fall in the most at risk category due to my asthma. Mind you, with two children still at school the chances are it'll arrive sooner or later!

I've had swine flu and was very ill for about three weeks but I'm on the mend and did not rely upon tamiflu but I did have to spend over a week in bed and the cough is just crucifying!!!
