Once the kids got up a bit I have been fortunate in being able to travel (cheap flights!). I was in Florence about this time last year and it was beautiful. I love history and it was FULL OF IT! Where have you been and what have you enjoyed. Anywhere...... it doesn't have to be abroad

I have been to quite a few places, but one of the most memorable has to be Las Vegas. I loved it, it was a scream from start to finish. Everyone was saying that it would be tacky. It was tacky, but also amazing. I would definitely go back again.

I have been fortunate to have travelled widely in my life and visited so many fantastic locations I can't really name one as the best.
But the following are a few I really liked - Rio, Sydney, Key West, Machu Picchu, Orlando, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Florence, Rome, Venice, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Lindesfarne, Lake District, Cotswolds, London, Bath, Paris, Amalfi Coast,
Looking forward to going to many more such places before I kick the bucket.

Caz50 - Vegas is on my list!! Beau - hope you are ready as I have a few places I have loved. The Rockies has been top of my list especially Banff and Lake Louise. Boston is one of my fav cities, as is Barcelona, Paris, Venice and Dublin. I love Canada especially near to Port Perry and could move there to live if I had to chose somewhere. Singapore was such a clean and safe place to be also. I hope that has given you some food for thought!!

France and Italy are my favourite countries to visit and Florence is hard to beat as a beautiful city; I will never forget sitting on the steps above the town and watching the sun set over the bridges one by one; the whole place was golden
Lucca, in Tuscany, and Ceret and Collioure in SW France are lovely too
Sydney is also fantastic

I just love the Lake District - would live there if I could - if I could find somewhere overlooking Coniston it would be a dream. I love most of the places I have visited - Barcelona - New York - only been there at Christmas and I just simply love it - going with OH and twin daughters in December - can't wait to see their faces. This year we went to Kenya and i would definitely go again. Whilst we were there we did 4 day safari and it was out of this world - just to see the beautiful scenery was fantastic - seeing giraffes closeby with a background of blue sky and mount kilimanjaro - magical. The people despite having nothing were so warm and kind. So many beautiful places in the world - and at home - wish money and time was available to see more

Brill to hear from you all. Coby, go back to Florence. The museums, churches etc are amazing. And David!! he will take your breath away!
Tuzanne, I'm soo jealous about Machu Picchu. I studied the whole Cortez/Pizzaro/Columbus thing at uni as part of my studies and would love to see it.
I've been to some of the other places mentioned but some I haven't. I think I would like to see some of the southern states of USA. I studied the American Civil War and heard the historical sites are amazing. Can't wait to hear where else you have all been.

So right intray how could I have forgot New York.
For all you who have never been to Las Vagas and think that you don't want to go because a bit tacky, then forget that it is just like no where on earth and is worth a visit, if only for a short time. And helicoptor trip into Grand Canyon is one of my all time wow factors on a holiday.
Aeccat I am hoping to see the Rockies next year on a trip to Vancouver, glad you like it.
Sandieh I visited the Lake District for first time this year and loved John Ruskins house overlooking Coniston Lake. Also have not done Safari thing in Africa but would like to.

Forgot to say that hubby and I hoping to visit the Montezuma exhibition in British Museum sometime soon. We saw the Terracotta Army there last year and it was amazing.
Scottishmags, I heard Lucca is absolutely lovely. Hope to do it too some day.
Took the kids to the Lake District in mid 80s and had a brilliant holiday. I also lived in Devon which is absolutely gorgeous. I used to watch and love Poldark but never been to Cornwall !! I want to see Bath and York - history again girls. (I think I may have been Miss Austen in a previous life! )

I love New Zealand. Have spent a few wonderful holidays there. My favourite cities are Aleppo, Syria and Luang Prabang in Laos. Both full of history and wonderfully friendly people. Would love to go back to both places.

Hi Beau,
Have travelled extensively, I love anywhere on the West Coast of the US, the drive on Route 66, so very long and really exciting. Monterrray, was so beautiful.
Las Vegas, my OH loves, I am not a gambler, but we really enjoyed the few days we stayed there, the first time, and the second time, we stayed for a week, we didnt do the helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, but would do that definitely, next time.
Really love the South of France, the Grasse area, in particular, and Juan Le Pins, beautiful scenery, picturesque villages, great place to visit.
I also love the Carribbean, enjoying a cruise, and visiting 16 islands, and enjoying the whole experience. Loved the US Virgin Island, St Thomas in particular, and Martinique.
Italy we have travelled to on quite a few occasions, I am afraid, Venice was not my favourite place, but I really enjoyed Sienna, and other areas in Tuscanny, and of course Rome.
Havent been to Australia or New Zealand, and would love to visit Japan.
Lived in Singapore, Aden, Cyprus, Honkkong, Germany and Gibralter, and think travelling is wonderful, but am never too keen on the flying to get there ha ha.

Oh and anywhere in France, just anywhere. I love it

Florence is such a beautiful place, Also loved Rome and Venice. Naples I enjoyed just for the experience. Wasn't too keen on Santorini ( too many donkeys jostling for space on steps, don't ask,! those of you who have been there will know what I mean). Loved Mykynos and enjoyed Rhodes. Morrocco was absolutely brilliant, all those Souks. Siscily was great, but most of all I loved Alghero in Sardinia. We were hoping to explore Dubai and the middle east in December but will have to wait and see how hubby progresses.
