OH earned lots of Brownie points this afternoon.
      #500656 - 04/11/2009 17:22

OH came home from work early today and handed me a box and said it was an early Xmas pressie seeing I had been feeling unwell last week. I opened it and it is a very small
lap-top called a Notebook. So tiny and light and I will be able in future to take it on hols with me as he knew I missed e-mails and forum when I was away. At the minute he just couldn't do anything wrong and I am smiling and forgettiing how rotten I was feeling. Does any-one else use a Note-book?

Hi aec
My OH recently bought himself a notebook and we took it on holiday with us (had to smile as he bought himself a man bag for it to go in) but for carrying around it is great and lightweight just had to pay the hotel for connection which was cheap, i have heard someplaces just ask you to by a drink at the bar and you will get connected. Your OH definetly deserves the brownie points and still got xmas to come.
Happy surfing

Hi AEC,

What a lovely thought. I have a laptop, but would love a Notebook.

I bought myself an Acer Notebook last week, and am on it now. It is brilliant, so much quicker than my old laptop. It is bright red and I love it. It has the new Windows 7 too, which I am just getting used to.

Awwwww how sweet! What a lovely OH. I use something similar - a netbook, and it is so useful, I couldn't be without it now. I take it on holiday, and upload photos just after I have taken them - you can delete and edit while you are away and give titles - previously I had trouble sometimes remembering what the photos were exactly...

I'm sure you will enjoy using yours!

And that's an early Christmas present? What will you get on the actual day?!!

My son would like a notebook for Christmas - and will prob get one, 'cos it's his GCSE year and he keeps nicking my laptop! I have a laptop as I need a CD drive, and am I right in thinking that notebooks normally don't have these?

I Do think you should forget about emails and forum whilst on holiday though (if you can).

Enjoy, you're a lucky girl!

Did consider one but ended up getting an IPhone which is smaller and can be used to go on internet. I need to check emails while away as need to make sure we haven't missed any enquiries for our Florida Villa and also I send messages to kids and mates via facebook. This has replaced the old postcards which never arrived until after you got home anyway.

That's great aec. What a lovely OH.
We found a netbook that I liked on Saturday at a very special price in JL but then, after spending ages deciding which gizmo we would need to wifi our broadband so that we could use it anywhere in the house/garden, they found that they were out of stock and not sure whether they were getting any more in of that particular model.
So it's back to the drawing board.
Still at least he's keen on getting me one now.

Caz50 - just looked at make and it is an Acer - sounds same as yours. Gem17 - this will be it. Christmas morning it will be a lipstick etc as this will be my main pressie but just given to me early. Feel very lucky. Amelica2 - a few more hints will be all you need.

How brilliant (she sez thru grated teeth) - I had (more) hospital tests last week and all I got was a 'good luck' before he skedaddled to work!!

Really lovely aec13cat - honestly!! What a lovely gesture. You do realise you will have to give him a particularly good xmas prezzie
