Hi there, just wondering how many of you shop online for clothes. Preferably, I like to go to into the shops to try on and have a good look at a garment to decide whether to buy or not. However, I have ordered Boden clothes as you can only order online and it is easy to return them if they don't fit .Also they are known for being good quality which was another incentive to buy online. Has internet shopping for clothes been a real success or a complete disaster?

Have recently had a skirt and slippers from Celtic and both turned out to be ok so might use them again. Had things from Rohan for walking and shoes from Hotter. All successful so far. I do like to see and touch things in shops. Is touching just a me thing or do others have to touch as they walk round?

Yes, predominantly Boden because they are so efficient and occasional M&S, Joe Browns and White Stuff but Boden are consistently the best.

Im the same Giny i like to touch the things i buy, i like to know what the material feels like and the quality. Have never bought clothes on line, because i like to try them on, if they didnt fit i couldnt be bothered with the hassle of sending them back, especially as i tend to leave things until the last minute, then i would be stuck waiting for an outfit.

Don't buy clothes online normally, as most of the shops I use are local to me.
But, in August I sent for 2 tops and a pair of shorts in the Boden sale. When they arrived, I didn't like them and ended up out of pocket as it cost me £4 p&p for delivery, then approx £2.50 to send them back. On top of that when they hadn't credited my card a couple of weeks later, I got in touch with Boden to be told that they hadn't received my parcel! Luckily I had my proof of return from the P.O.
So this experience has put me off a bit.....

I buy a lot from M&S on-line. Very efficient and free returns. They are offering free delivery too at present. (Usually £3.50)

Actually just remembered that I also use Next online, as their childrens clothes go up to age 16 and they only go up to age 12 in the stores. Also you can have your goods delivered to the store for pickup if you prefer and you can also take them back to any store too, so I would recommend Next

I do nearly all my clothes shopping online and find lots of offers for 'online only' purchases. There is the hassle of sending things back but I don't find that a problem, it is far less tiring than visiting the stores and very exciting when the delivery comes.

Me too, long trip to the shops....use Penny Plain, Gray and Osbourn and Crazy Clearance...during their sales ( CC and Gand O have sales at the moment) and order thigs I like in a couple of sizes to ensure a decent fit and send the others back.
Need to watch out though for free returns if possible or it all ends up the same as spending on fuel and parking..
I havent had any problems with any of these online companies at all ........
If I can shop online for anything it is my preference to tramping around the shops..I get so overwhelmed by all the stuff.........it feels almost obscene...............

Like you I tend to buy clothes on line and love Boden, I have My eye on a few dresses but alass Ill probably only buy one or two once they have some more reductions

I buy a certain amount on line, usually Boden, M&S, Next and Joe Bloggs, rest I get from shops. Noticed in local freebie paper today that Boden are at one of the local senior schools selling their stuff this weekend, what a shame...........!!

Had no idea that Next childrens clothes go up to 16 online. Don't usually use their online store as have at least 4 stores within a 10 mile radius. I may now be able to get my son out of Tesco trackie bottoms and into something smarter. Thanks for the tip.

I sometimes shop at Wallis online. I find it very efficient and if anything doesnt fit I can take it back to my local Wallis shop. Also you get some good offers online that you dont get in the shops also a better chance of getting what you are looking for online.

Have used Lands End and Nightingales for some years now, also Gray and Osbourn more recently as they seem to be linked with Nightingales now. Lands End are very useful for tall people as they often offer free hemming on their trousers. Long Tall Sally have told me they charge £8 to adjust hems, which I think is a bit pricey!

I have recently been disappointed with items ordered from Marisotsa. I regularly order from M & S and CC online, as living 50miles from Edinburgh and 75 from Newcastle, shopping is a little difficult. Only problem with M & S is their sizing but I usually get over that one by ordering more than one size. Just watch when you order if you intend to return
an item or you could find the item payment on your Credit Card Statement one month and the refund on the next month's statement.

Yes I always shop online, I am on the big side and hate the whole changing room thing where you have to try and squeeze yourself and a couple of dresses in to a tiny space. The other alternative is the communal changing room where all is on show 
I have had a couple of disasters where the things have not turned up, and I had to chase them but eventually got my money back. On the whole most companies are OK. You also need to check the returns policies or you could end up with a big postage bill if you buy something like a coat that needs returning.
I use www.blackdresses.org.uk because they have a good selection of plus size dresses.

o yes i do!!! its so much easier to try on at home and see how the garment will mix and match with your wardrobe.
just had a great experience with a company called kettlewell colours amazing tops and really good customer service. thats one of the most important things to me. bad service and i dont shop there!!!
