Day 579: 7 weeks until Christmas - Please help me get motivated again
      #500268 - 04/11/2009 08:17

Hi Ladies

I am feeling such a failure at this, I just seem to keep going up and up - I know its because I am falling behind with the rules etc but I just can't get in that zone...........

It is 7 weeks until Christmas and I have decided that thats enough time to make a differance and get me on the path to a flabuless 2010.

Can you give me any tips etc, I did so well in the beginning - I want that feeling back!!!

xx

Hi Gilley,

As you say, you did so well in the beginning, you were one of the stars.

Go back to that time, what were the thoughts and feelings you had, what was the spur to get you going? Visualise yourself back then really motivated and recreate that "go for it" feeling.

Keep that feeling with you all day today. You did it then, you can do it now, because you are worth it!

I was taught to sit quietly and visualise yourself how you would like to look. What you would be wearing, how your hair would be... I know its really hard and you can only get there when you're in the right frame of mind.

If its any consolation, I'm not in that frame either at the mo.

Good luck.

Hi gilley and everyone

Gilley - listen to your aunty ally - you are so NOT a failure. You have kept us all going through the summer and you should feel very proud of yourself. OK, maybe you're going struggling just now, but you CAN do it. Can you try to think of how good you felt at the beginning when you were following the rules and losing weight. Just remember how fantastic that feeling was and think about how FABULOUS you will look at Christmas.

Remembering to eat slowly is so important, it makes it so much easier to recognise when you've had enough to eat.

Girls, we will all be FABULOUS at Christmas!

I did so well last summer but this year I put some weight back on at the start of the year and I don't seem to be able to find that motivation again. I know I eat more than I should and before I sit down I do remind myself to eat slowly etc but then I forget - probably because at dinner I'm already thinking of everything I've still got to get done in the evening - and then OH will suggest a bit of supper and I forget I'm not hungry.

So stupid really - I know exactly what I'm doing wrong. Is this how smokers feel when they try to give up?

Well I hope it's a big boat, because it seems we're all in the same one. My only consolation is that people who haven't seen me for a while think I've lost loads of weight, which I have, but this summer has been a disaster weight wise. I'm back to where I was before Easter, and it isn't that I'm at my ideal weight. I have days when I eat sooo badly just for the hell of it . Maybe I'm going throught my rebellious phase!
