Men in earrings
      #499938 - 03/11/2009 19:19

A few weeks ago (I'm still recovering) I went into a shop and the man behind the counter had that dyed blond spikey hair and earrings with droplets with blue sstones in - the sort I might just wear on a night out but not on a Saturday morning.
do you find this attractive? I don't

Hi Mrs Smith,

I am afraid I just cannot get my head around men, (especially middle aged men) who wear any kind of jewellery, be it, a necklace, bracelet, or ear-ring, call me old fashioned, just does not look very attractive to me.

I think it is really a younger man's trend, but even then, I would much rather not see them, just as well we are not all the same ha ha.

No, not really in to it. Somehow a big burly scaffolder and a creole hoop don't match......

I once strayed into a French site on the internet which was all tattooes and piercings. My lack of command of the language let me into some horrendous pictures!!!!! I can only imagine these people like PAIN in a big way
Back to the earrings, the funny thing is that the man from that naff jewellers, Ratners, couldn't sell pairs of hoop earrings so he put them singly and sold them to men! (very piratey!) and that's how the fashion started.
The piercing/tattoeing is another matter. I'm a bit fed up of seeing men's legs with all kinds of fancy stuff on them as they parade in shorts in winter!
And just don't get me onto those things they put in their ear lobes to make a big hole (WHY???? )

Oh YES please and if it is a diamond stud so much the better and a carefully placed tattoo oh woo eee , and yes there is more " all this and brains too" and I go weak at the knees.

SO guess I am on my own here ................... AGAIN ROFL

It generally depends on the person, like my ex wouldn't have looked good with such a thing but lots of his mates had piercings and they look great!!

The guy I'm kind of seeing at the moment (and I really mean kind of) mentioned the other day when I was talking about my piercing that he quite wanted it done...me things not but then I may be wrong...he's hot so could prob pull it off!!

Well I guess it's an age thing! To me earrings on men look totally naff and the all over tattooes just look repulsive.
(Saw an old man the other day with faded tatooes all up his arms. Looked awful. No doubt someone in the care home would sort out the Prince Alberts)

My husband wears a square St Christopher that he has worn since he was 21.He's now 54 and I love the thought that I hold something that has been with him through all that time.

But earrings, no.

What do you think about nose piercings for men? There are a couple of men at work with them. One has a gold stud and the other a little diamond.

My D has an OH with a stud in his ear, rings and bracelet, looks fine, but there is a limit............

My youngest SIL has a stud in her nose, I can't stop staring and find it weird

Mrs Smith...wow dont you stumble into some sites...lol.

Guess I am too old to like men wearing earings...dont even have them myself ( coward) ..but a little stud looks ok on the right man, so can a bracelet..but think they need to be a manly man to look good.

Tattoos...dont go for them...havings said that guy I am with has them...one I hate..it is huge..and now he is older he regrets it.

Dont like the thought of tatoos or piercings on some parts or the body ( mens) think a close encounter with that would make my eyes water !

Don't mind studs or a small hoop, bracelet and plain ring ok too. Some tats look good but hate to see men/women with most of their bodies covered, think they may look peculiar when they're old with skin some weird shade, 'cos the lines get thicker with age and the images seem to blur.
