Lucky Lady LillieB,

Yes , and it is gorgeous, the beaches are beautiful, the sea is sublime and the people have a lovely nature (for the most part). Do go to Sting Ray City it's worth every penny, and hell is worth the ride too. Food is OK, take local advice and the duty free (booze) is probably the cheapest you will ever get, I think you have to get it from a special shop though.
I hope you have an amazing time. xx

Hi LillieB Hope you have a wonderful holiday. I was only there for a day on a cruise ship years ago. Friends who lived there collected us and took us on a tour round island. Beaches were fantastic.

Hi Shirley, Cuddles and Aec13cat, many thanks for the info, we do plan to go to Stingray City which will be fantastic. Great you have friends there Aec are they locals or have they emigrated? Will be taking netbook if it works to keep in touch still.

Hi LillieB

I was there MANY MANY years ago and did the stingray city and Hell - both fab. Also went to the tutle conservation/breeding centre was also amazing. Have a fab time. Try mixing with the locals eating places and you will find them all so very friendly and accommodating. ENJOY. I am sooooooo jealous.

Elaine xx

I lived there for 3 years and loved it. Its probably one of the safefest places in the Caribbean and there are no worries walking round it at night. 7 mile beach (in reality 5 miles)is beautiful having said that though the island is not as pretty as alot of the other Caribbean islands as its very flat. Stingray city is certainly worth a visit but try to go when the cruise ships are not in as it gets very crowded. As well as Hell go to the Turtle farm they are very close together also take a trip to the blow holes and Cayman Kai. One word of warning its very expensive so bare that in mind when shopping the cayman dollar is 1 for 1 for the US dollar and both can be used.
