Do you buy Home Magazines?
      #499686 - 03/11/2009 15:54

I llove looking at home interiors but whenever I buy a "Home" magazine I always feel disappointed. Seems like lots of adverts and not really much else.

Hi Glitter, Whenever I buy home Mags I tend to buy them either at Basildon or Chelmsford market they are three for £1.20 and quite often they are only a couple of months old.

Hi Glitter.

Used to when first married but long given up now. Only get them if they are a freeby enclosed with one of the other monthly mags.

Given up on the housemake over progs too on TV

Scarp xx

I never buy mags - they're full of ads and I would rather read a book. However, I did subscribe to W&H on a whim. If I was to read a mag it's the one I would read. (and I'm not just saying that)

I don't often buy them, but I do flick through at Smiths. There do seem to be a lot of adverts.

I have a subscription to 'Living Etc'...I love some of the ideas...they appeal to my 'ecclectic' taste.

I used to buy lots of them for 50p from my local library, until the powers that be told the women who work there they couldn't be sold but had to be put in the recycling!!!

I'm a bit of a magazine junkie, but I only buy the Home ones if I'm having sonething done, or if it's Christmas - I'm just like Jenniferpl. I bought several issues of Beautiful Kitchens in the run up to having ours done up and did find them useful, but I agree about the adverts. Sometimes they come bundled with W&H or GH in Tesco/WHSmith and I might get one then. I did that last month as I'm looking to do up a couple of bedrooms.

Well done summer...cost effective that !

I have had a subscription to House Beautiful for years. Even though I have " finished" my home I still clip things from it that I like and there are lots of usefull addresses as well.

Its not full of expensive items either !
