stilettos
      #499266 - 03/11/2009 06:52

Have you noticed the outrageously high stilettos that are being worn on TV and that are in the shops? There is no way that I could wear that height - I might as well book my bed at the hospital to fix my broken ankle now! However it got me thinking that my old faithful black patent shoes (leather, £15 from ADSA about 2/3 years ago and worn to death) are looking a bit frumpy and dated. These stilettos do look so elegant.

Okay, I'm asking for a miracle here but does anyone know of a trendy black COMFY stiletto, about 3" high and that doesn't cost the earth?

I am sure I have seen some in M and s, although they could have been wedge heels (which are very comfy)

Also try New Look if there is a big store nearby. They have lovely shoes and not too expensive either. Good hunting !

I agree with Bizibee New look are good for fashion shoes, i have bought a couple of pairs of these high heels but if you get the ones with a built in platform they are decieving as the height from toe to heel isnt as much as you think and easier to walk in.

I personally think that a more expensive stilletto (like LK Bennett) is better balanced and therefore much easier to wear, so something that seems ridiculously high is actually OK.

Might have a shoe shopping day - ah heaven! Had a look in New Look today as I was passing but I think my feet must have got wider! I've always been able to get my foot into any size 4 so very strange. I'm sure LK Bennett shoes would be fabulous but I really can't justify the price for what is merely a whim. Will have a cybershop tomorrow and take it from there.

A stiletto shoe is the perfect shoe for a special event where you want to look feminine and feel glamorous. The heels can add inches to your height and make your legs appear longer and slimmer. They're not a practical shoe for the office or any other setting where you're going to walking or moving around a lot. Plus, unless they're worn with the most conservative of outfit, they're probably going to cross over the line of what's considered appropriate office attire. Save them for your next big evening office party.
