Well, I had my Colonic Irrigation this morning
      #496257 - 29/10/2009 15:10

I went to a private clinic in a nearby town to have my session there. To be truthful, I almost rang up and cancelled it - the nerves were kicking in. I have to say that everything is done very professionally, and at no point did I feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. You strip off from the waist down, and wear an open backed gown. The nurse then ran through what was going to happen, and then inserted a brand new plastic tube into my anus. She then allowed warm water to pass through the tube for about 5 mins, and then , when I said I was feeling pressure, she drained it all away. Through a glass fronted panel on the expensive looking machine, you can see what is coming out. (If you don't want to see it, you can just lie down and think of England.) Until the liquid coming out goes quite dark, she knew that the water hadn't reached the far end of my colon. She repeated all this another twice, and as soon as the darker liquid came out she was really happy.. I felt so much better when I came out, knowing that my colon was clean inside and no paracites were remaining. The first big plus was that my colon had been full of gas which made me look about 6 months pregnant, thus my tummy is now the flattest it has been for years. I wouldn't exactly say that I could do an underwear ad on TV, but its such a lovely feeling. I will have it done again in a few months time, but for the moment I feel on top of the world.

Hi Swanlake. Sounds yukky and strangely interesting. Can't say I would try it myself. I flatten my stomach with probiotic capsules. I think I would be too squeamish to try colonic irrigation but I am fascinated to see if it is a five minute wonder or whether you feel the benefits for months to come.

Swanlake, thanks for posting. I've been thinking about having this for ages but somehow don't get round to it. I've seenit done on TV and think it would be good for me and what I call my "trapped wind"

What about all the 'good bacteria' that live in your insides? Does having this done affect the natural balance of things?

Hi CrissiFi

Good point. They gave me a jar of "good bacteria" tablets to take one a day for a month.

Sounds very interesting and I have fancied getting this done but too embarrased. Did your tummy go back to bloated look after you eat a few times?

Never had colonic irrigation.

but had a colonoscopy, and they give you this stuff to drink that clears you out......

You drink it. then 15 minuts more you drink more. and again, and again

The you sit on the loo for 2 hours with a book and and air freshener

Same result. just on the NHS
