What should I do
      #495328 - 28/10/2009 13:28

for the last 2 years my left eye has been very watery, and gets worse in the cold weather. I have been told I have blocked tear ducts. Has anyone else got the same problem and is it worth operating on?

Hello limoncello - have not seen you here for a bit. Good to see you. !!

I get this every Autumn too and it messes up my make up and goes on and on week after week in my left eye.

When I finally went to my GP she said regularly steam to clear it. So I do ....and it works.

I also take anti- histimine which also helps when it is particularly irratated but dont know why.. just seems to help me.

Plus a nutritionist said steer clear of too much dairy and fungi which can have mucus forming properties.

Good luck.

Hello Limoncello,

I too suffer with this but all year thru, my optician said to stay away from getting the tear ducts unblocked as she has seen too many people where it has made things worse.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

xx

I get this too - some days it's fine and other days I'm constantly mopping it and all my make-up gets washed off round my right eye - such a nuisance

Scarp - I would happily try steam but how do you do it - is it a bowl of hot water and a towel over your head?
