Nile cruise January
      #493209 - 25/10/2009 21:24

Hello, we are hoping to go on a Nile cruise in January for our 40th wedding anniversary and then stay somewhere for a further week. We have looked at Cosmos and they have a ship called Sonesta St George 1. Has anyone been on this ship at all? One of the reasons we like the sound of it is because in additon to a shower (which I hate) it has a jacuzzi bath! Comments would be appreciated please.

Thanks

I have just returned from a Nile Cruise, it was very hot, busy and enjoyable. Didn't stay on Sonesta St George 1, we organised it through African Safari Club. I think its a good idea to have a week afterwards. I came back thoroughly exhausted after a few 3am starts. I think January will be a lovely time to go-it may be a little cooler then. Temp in the 40s when we were there.

Thank you both for replies. Not sure I am truly 'back' though (dmb) still very crowded hereabouts but thanks for noticing.

Maybe I will just try and squeeze in here and there now and again!

We did a nile cruise two years ago. It was a fantastic experience. Is the jacuzzi in your suite? We had a j on top deck so you needed cozzie to use it.

Sorry cant help with that particular company,we went with Thomas cook October last year for our hineymoon and had a fantastic time, totally spoilt for the whole cruise ,our guide that took us out every day was amazing he knew so much, and would find out anything he didnt know..we were very lucky we had our own little balcony with table n chairs etc,
we then went on to Malsa Alam for our 2nd week it was fine but didnt cater much for vegetarians when it came to meal times
You will have a fantastic time..Enjoy

We're booked to go on the Lady Mary at the end of February as we have friends who recommended it and they have holidayed all over the world and said that they had a great time with no upset tummies.

Thanks for replies, we have changed our minds now, thinking of Gran Canaria instead, all being well after I have some hospital tests. YUK
