Hi Cheeki, we have a book club in Ayr - I am also a new member and have not been to any before - but I am looking forward to my "first" meeting.
I have read the book - The girl on the Landing - .
I need to confirm the date - I had it penciled in as Tuesday 3rd November - hope you can make it. I will drop you PM later i, when I have been able to check the date.

Nan

I've read The Girl on the Landing too and could also pass it on to anyone else....just PM me if you would like it.

Now reading the other book We Need to Talk About Kevin...hopefully I'll be finished reading it in time.

Hi Nan good to see someone else joining our merry little band for our second meeting, look forward to meeting you next week.

Can I just say that I was struck by your generousity in offering books to your potential new club member. I've always 'loved' my books and try to hold on to them - with the odd clear out - but I'm seeing that it is good to pass them on too. I do give them to charity, family etc but I was struck by how welcoming and generous you were. It is better for a book to be read by, whatever number of people, than read by one and sit on a bookcase, albeit cherished.

I am also a member of the Ayr Book club , we've met once and had a great night . I hope you'll come along next Tuesday and join us. I am reading Girl on the Landing, hope to finish it before Tuesday...and there's no chance I'll get to the second book before then !! Gail

Hi Witchgirl, welcome to the forums! We are reading the new Marian Keyes book the Brightest Star in the Sky as we wanted something a little lighter this month for a change.

I have sent you details where we are meeting next month, it would be great if you could join us!

Ann
