Coming to York this weekend with Rotary 1020. Any suggestions for shopping? Having lunch at York Rustique I think it's called and staying at Monksbar Hotel. Been to York before but usually with OH and not had a chance for any serious retail therapy. If you are in York and see a crowd of Scottish Ladies, say Hello! one of them might just be me.

Go to Browns and a trip to Mulberry Hall is well worth it. Expensive but worth it ! All sorts of decorative things, kitchen, china, porcelain, they usually have a christmas floor too but not sure whether it will be set out yet. Lakeland shop is good too and there is Lakeland the clothes shop where you can get beautiful handbags there, some Radley bags too. We usually have cocktails in The Parish after a couple of hours shopping, then on to Bettys for afternoon tea (if the queue isnt too long)

Well don't be too rowdy Cath will you? I live on the outskirts of York so I don't want to be kept awake with a load of noisy women (lol). I hope you have a lovely weekend.

We shop in York all the time it is the only place Mr Rozie will go and nearly enjoy shopping, although he wandered round the market while I went in M & S last week. I love just wandering round York and popping in where ever takes your fancy. You are coming at a good time lots of buildings are being lit up this weekend its the illuminating York Festival 2009 see link below.

Thanks Carol. Looking forward to it. We have a busy weekend in front of us. Theatre on Friday night, lunch and shopping Saturday whilst our OH's are at Conference. Having the Rotary Ball in the Railway Museum which should be interesting. Promise we'll keep the noise down and be in bed by at least 3am. Thankfully the clocks go back this weekend so we'll get another well needed hour in bed. As we are 50 miles from Edinburgh and 75 from Newcastle we are all looking forward to some retail therapy.
