Have You Been To Dubai?
      #490997 - 22/10/2009 08:30

We've booked to go next year, staying at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Would love to hear your experiences - good and bad! Did you have an enjoyable time and what did you get up to while you were out there? Would you go back again in the future?

You know I havent been to Dubai, but my son has, and he really enjoyed himself. Gold Souks, (you will be heaven) ha ha,and lost of activities, bet you will all have a whale of a time.

I am available to carry cases, amuse the children, and love to swim ha ha.

Hello Plasmo,

Thanks for that - I'll see if she is still on the user list and look up her post. Didn't realise Plasmo Jnr had been to Dubai - would love to talk to him about it!

I'm not entirely sure that it is Snowy - I've just been through her list of posts and there is no mention of Dubai! Hopefully Gill will be able to enlighten me further.

Hi Spangle,

I know Dubai really well my OH lived and worked there for a few years and I've been there so many times for weeks at a time. PM me if you like and I'll help as much as I can. Dont kinow what things you like to do and there is so much, not enough room here!!!

I've been in the Jumieira Beach Hotel many times and its lovely, there is a fantastic Argentinia Restaurant at the top of the Hotel which is very posh, not too many kids running around and they do a lovely dance show whilst you are eating.
So much to see So much to tell you. You'll love it, I did.

Hello Spangle
I have been to Dubia several times and stayedatthe Jumeriah Beach hotel, rooms really lovely, service excellent, beach and pool area also excellent. You will be able to move between the hotels in the complex via a beach buggy. do visit some of the shopping malls and the snow dome all the souks in the old town. Enjoy the pampering

Spangle, the Madinat is quite good to wander around in.

It has a great Indian restaurant in there too. Not as bling, bling as the other Malls! It is virtually walking distance from Jumeirah Beach Hotel, but in the heat a taxi would be advisable. It has a theatre there too, and has some good shows on. We saw Chicago and Mama Mia there.

Hi Spangle,
I got back from a fortnight in Dubai two weeks ago. It's the fourth time I have been as I stay with a friend who lives there. She always takes me to places off the beaten track and we simply don't stop! I wrote it all down as her husband and I were trying to persuade her to set up a 'bespoke tours' business. If you would like me to PM you my itinerary I would be very happy to do so. It covers everything form the malls, souks, hotels, haggling, mosque, Atalntis, monorail, cultural breakfast, free shuttle buses, free ladies' champagne evenings, falconry centre and loads, loads more besides.

Just let me know, or if anybody else would like it too. It deserves a wider audience as she is such a good hostess!!

Hi Spangle
Looks like you have already got lots of feedback from other Forummers. We have been to Dubai and we also stayed at the Jumeirah -we had a fantastic time. Not sure what month you are going but we went in August and the humidity was very very high so nothing was outside in the evening -ie the outdoor restaurants were not open. Inside though everything amazing and had some good trips in the day.
