'Simple' moisturisers
      #490193 - 21/10/2009 08:34

Morning all...well this morning I have woken up with a really nasty rash on my neck and chest...and boy am I glum. I've used the 'Simple' range for ages..months and months if not years..the eye makeup remover and pads, the facial make up remover and wipes etc. and always have loved the light moisturing lotion. I don't know if you ladies are familiear with the range but all the bottles look the same, and I started a new bottle yesterday. And now I have this awful burning rash ..on checking the new bottle I've found it's the 'rich moisturiser' and not the 'light moisturiser'...so can only assume that although they say they don't use harmful chemicals there must be something in it that certainly doesn't agree with me.....I'm really fed up as it shows..I've put on a high necked t'shirt but it's itchy and horrid..I've put on some anithistamine.cream..and taken ditto tablet so fingers crossed it'll calm down soon.
Not a happy bunny on this dreary Wednesday..hope you all have a better day than me !! boo hoo!!

Poor you Grannie,I can't use Simple products they made my face sting so have never believed that they are quite as innocent as they claim.Hope the rash disappears soon.

Hope by now the skin rash may have gone. One needs to be cautious of the chemicals in the moisturizers. If you can find ayurvedic preparations like Ayur medic, you would be on the safe side.

Hope your rash has now eased. Thank you for the warning. I sometimes buy Simple products but will make sure I never buy the rich moisturiser. I have found E45 useful on a range of skin conditions - dry skin, rashes etc.

Hi everyone and thank you for your kind wishes.
After my posting on Wednesday last, predictably the rash on my neck and chest got much much worse..very red, swollen and blistered...the only thing I can do at that stage (I've had various allergic reactions in the past to different types of things ) is put on burns dressings, take plenty of Piriton and just sit it out.
Thankfully day by day it has eased and today, although it still looks unsightly and red, at least the blisters have gone and I look a little more human.
I did email 'Simple', and didn't think I'd hear anything, but today in the post (yes we got MAIL !!) there's a really lovely letter offering me £5 back for the cost of the moisturiser and asking me to fill in a questionnaire about what has happened (which I will do, and send them my daily photos of the problem) and to return the bottle..they will send it off to their lab and do some tests etc. When I compared the lists of ingredients in both the 'light' and the 'rich' moisturiser there are quite a few horrendous sounding ones which I have googled.....they are pretty 'iffy' I can assure you !
Shame really as you think you can trust a range like 'Simple' but I'm not so sure now......really there's not a lot out there for us with sensitive skin.

Thanks again for your comments.......Spotty Grannie
