Our requirements are...
      #488419 - 18/10/2009 12:30

... sunshine, seclusion , no children , translucent seas , no noise at night, only the waves... , not long haul , small hotel...

I know that sounds impossible but is it?
Are there any websites you ladies can recommend? or places you have stayed like this?

We've just returned from the Caribbean and are wondering what we can find in Europe that is similar but without the jet lag problem. It's taken us nearly aweek to get over it this time and it's hard to settle to normal life, especially with the clocks going back soon...
So we thought we'd see what we can book for April or May when Europe starts to warm up.

Thanks in advance!!

We recently had a lovely stay in Tunisia though ther were children in the hotel the space around it and the organisation of meals was so good that we really didn't notice.
Hotel El Kanta.
Hotel had its own private beach and taxi bus to get to it ,most families preferred the swimming pool so the beach was quiet even in August!

Tough one. When you find it, can you let me know! What about one of the less popular greek islands or Croatia? Never been. Never looked but just an idea.

I think you'll find what you're looking for on the Exclusive Escapes website. We've twice been to Turkey with them and I can highly recommend. I think the Dionysos Hotel in Kumlubuk would fit the bill. We went in May last year. Lovely during the day, bit chillier at night. If that isn't small enough, check out the Villa Mahal in Kalkan. We've been to Kalkan, but stayed at the Regency Hotel which isn't nearly as secluded as the Dionysos. Also consider Ece on Sovalye. I'd be interested to hear what you think, Sella.

I also like the idea of a croatian island.. haven't ever been there myself either but it sounds like a good idea. I would also look into some of the Greek island. I know a lot of them are touristy and can be 'cheap' destinations for a lot of young people, but you can find some exclusive resorts in some quieter areas. I don't know of a particular one, but I've heard of resorts/hotels that don't allow any children, so that's a plus for you!

Grande Hotel San Michele, Calabria (South Italy)

Excellent hotel, not a built up area, private beach, makes own wine, olives, bread, food fantastic. Not a child friendly hotel. Wonderful grounds.

Thompson and Page and Moy do package trips, but you could fly to Terme Lamezia and drive.

You can do ferry trips to the Aoelian Islands.

Fantastic.

Or...PM Limoncello - she has a small boutique hotel in Puglia (I think), which looks fantastic, but I've lost the website

Have a look at Corsica. Lovely island with good beaches and better food than the Caribbean. Much shorter journey but far more expensive.
