Star Letter
      #432975 - 03/08/2009 07:10

Normally I love this magazine but the September issue had a couple of strange things in it firstly the Liz Jones introductions read as if she was astounded she had points put on her licence and fined for driving at a 104 miles per hour she accepted no responsibilitiy what so ever for breaking the law.
Secondly the star letter was from a lady who had worked very hard to lose weight for her sisters wedding, following the raw food diet. Her prize was £50 of chocolates??? Somehow that dosent feel very encouraging.
May be its just me!

Hi Spikeyrehab,

I haven't seen the magazine yet, but will look out for it. I got three points on my license recently, for doing 36 in a 30 zone, which I was horrified about (in my pitiful defence, it used to be a 40 zone and I just didn't notice they'd changed it ) First blemish on my record in 23 years of driving - I was mortified......and at 104mph I would think I'd got off lightly with just points!

I must admit I had to laugh when I read about the chocs. The proof reader wasn't awake on that one. I wonder if she has sent them back.? Dont get me doing on Liz Jones, she is so self obsessed, I dont read her any more.

I felt awful posting something negative before I had even introduced myself, yes I am new to W&H forum I do look at the country living forum and I enjoy reading the stuff on Prima forum even though I havent read the magazine. I have rarely posted just odd bits of stuff. Like I said I usually love this mag! Anyway thank you for the welcome.

I'm a newbie too Spikeyrehab and I must admit hubby and I had a giggle over the star letter!

Just as well cos we did the How Strong is Your Marriage quick quiz on page 65 and only got into the "resilient" zone.

However, as hubby pointed out, you had to get over 23 points to get into the better zone...but the most you could get for any question was 3 points and there were only 6 questions so 18 points was the most you could get!

Ho hum, I think the proof reader for the latest issue must be badly in need of a holiday : )

Can't wait to read the rest of the magazine (as usual) - may be it's a test to check we all actually read it.

J x
