No more symptoms have come out yet so I'm hoping that it's just a summer bout of mild flu! Do still feel exhausted though!!
I have heard of lots of people having it but don't know anyone personally!

There is a lot of it around, London and Kent and Loughton so not too far away from Essex ... seems to be responding to treatment as long as you are not vulnerable to start with.
Still I am sure that I would worry if I had been in contact with it.
Lets hope Fluff just has a summer cold... sure she has xx

Hi Fluff, hope you did'nt mind me mentioning you, and I hope you feel better soon, if you still have symptoms in the week, might be has well to ring your GP and ask to have a blood test, or give NHS direct a ring, for advice, Take care of yourself.

Course I didn't mind you mentioning me hun!! Obviously I hope I haven't got it but it's the first thing that went through my mind when I woke up like this!!
And yes, of course if it gets worse or doesn't go I will get checked out. Although apparently they diagnose you over the phone!!

Hi girls
I do not know how accurate this is but my brother;s fiancee's friends have got swine flu. The friends got told that they now no longer do the actual tests they just now apparently give you the medication.
It said on the teletext news that there could be as many as 100,000 people a day coming down with swine flu in the near future.

My little grandson has it, he went for a school trip in Loughton, Essex and came home with it very ill, My daughter has got his temp. down and he is keeping fluids down. The teachers at the school did not even notify my daughter, allbeing only an hours drive from home she could have gone and got him. 3 other boys have it.
On top of that most of his chool clothes were left behind as he was too ill to pack them. He was sick all over his sleeping bag and his p jams. How could they have neglected him. Don't worry complaints are going into the school govenors.
Thank god he is a strong little boy and pulling through.

Flu usually does become more serious in the young and elderly. But one of the concerns with this flu is that it seems to affect the middle age population more,20 to 30 age bracket I think.Appears to be only fatal in those who already have underlying medical conditions. That is all very serious, and I don't want to pop the humour bubble.CC's type of illness I may have had before...don't think that is fatal though,LOL! I don't think we will know for definite if we do get it. If cases rise then we won't be "tested" formally and it will all be guess work.

Apparently the older you are the less likely you are to catch it (this from a friend who is a practice manager). Being over 60 has its compensations.

Not a swine in sight in my wider area, unless it is of the pink, podgy, curly tailed variety......
