Hi Girls,
As you know just back from a week away, (end of, wont mention again), and just cant believe, the clothes and shoes that I took with me, only to bring half of them back, not worn, why do we do it?
I always intend to do this capsule wardrobe, that we are always talking about on here, but it just never materializes at all.
I thought I would take different colour T Shirts, with the usual black, cream, and white cut off trousers, I also took a white shirt, a silk black shirt, I took some Birkenstocks, my jellies (2 pairs) 1 pair of kitten heels, 1 pair of Crocs, 4 dresses, (two for day and two for evening wear), 1 Crinkle Skirt, and believe me the list goes on.
Is it just me? are we all the same, (OK Amelica, and Kate, and I bet Cinders, and Spangle, and Kez) bet you dont have this problem, am I doomed to never get it right?
Please tell me I am not alone ......................pretty please!!!!!

You are not alone!!!
As perfect as I may appear ( ha ha), I always take what I consider to be enough or a bit more, just in case, and always end up bringing back stuff unworn (but then that saves on the washing ).
Its a womans thing - dont know why, but it is, so dont worry, its part of our make-up so to speak, and we will continue to do this as long as we travel!!!
Happy washing and ironing Plasmo

I will try and give the capsular wardrobe a go!!! .........No it wont work.!!! Pinlady xx

Hi Amelica, Fluff, Pinlady,
I feel so much better now, I really do.
I couldnt believe the look on OH's face when we were unpacking our cases, and he just looked at mine and said " I dont believe what I am seeing, we have been away for a week, why did you take all those shoes?) my answer to him was "I dont know, to be honest", ha ha.
Before I die, I will get it right, (just for once) ha ha.

HI Plasmo
Your post made me feel better, as I thought it was only me, I took 10 pairs of knickers (can I say that here) for 4 days...OH asked why? as you can only wear one pair at a time, and I have to say its just in case...of what I dont know but you have to be prepared don't you - I bought back a case of unworn clothes, I too must get it right for my holiday to Cyprus.

BrandyQueen,
Why do we do these strange things? I am so glad, as I said above, that it isnt just me.
The things is about Cyprus, BrandyQueen, you can buy extremely cheap shoes in the North, and also lovely coloured leather handbags, do you think that requires an extra suitcase, when you go there on your hols? ha ha.

As Brandy said....better to be prepared :grin

Hi Plasmo
Same as everyone, I take too much, think I am being economical, but never am, Its a female thing me thinks, but we have more to think of than blokes, Mine takes little room either, so I add more, I have got better though,

No, not alone there! Even when we came back from recent cruise ( oopas I mentioned it,but only briefly!) I put as much back in the wardrobe as I washed! I think it's cos I still allow an oufit each day and one for each evening...when will I learn you don't need that much! I'm not too bad with shoes, but it's outfits and underwear...why do men always take the right ammount, and wonmen work it out and then put some more in? Why? We just bring it back unworn!

Kate,
My OH is packed, ready, no hassle, days before we are due to leave on any holiday, he has a capsule wardrobe down to a fine art.

Takes me about half an hour to pack and leave it till just before we leave. If i know how long we are away for, then I rarely bring anything back that I haven't worn, though I tend to pack a couple of extra staple items in case of emergencies like throwing red wine down myself....

Hello Plasmo and everyone
Why do you think I take the caravan with me? So much space to fill!
CheshaChilla - I do hope you wouldn't waste a good red by spilling it!
