There is only a week to go till the wedding. Bought a minimiser bra yesterday but its no good. Thought it might help. The dress does fit (snuggly) but what happens later in the day. Are you like me do you swell up i know im going to feel really bloated after the wedding reception. But we are also staying for the night do and not going home inbetween as its to far away. so my feet will be horrendous. Any suggestions gratefully received. Will be keeping up with these posts every day so as to keep myself on track. Thank you ladies DMB

Hi DMB, A couple of suggestions would be to avoid all alcohol for the week and have very little at the reception.Try and drink lots of water instead. If you never touch alcohol this will be a completely useless bit of advice, sorry. Try to plan light meals for the coming week ,with lots of vegetables and fruit. And try and increase your exercise levels, listen to PMK and relax! On the day itself try to move around as much as possible to help your Lymph system do it's job properly and stop you swellnig up too much. Also try and give yourself a bit of a leg massage, using sweeping strokes upwards from your ankles using firm strokes, this may stop your feet giving you problems. Definitely put the PMk rules into practise at the reception. If you eat too much you will feel uncomfortable and won't really enjoy it. Hope you enjoy the wedding. Decx

I would recommend cutting down on salt and carbonated drinks too. I would also recommend lying on your back with your legs resting up the wall for at least 20 minutes every day. Ideally your body and legs should form a 90 degree angle, but just go for the angle which is comfortable for you. You can do this lying on the bed, if this is more comfortable. It encourages the fluid to move from your legs.
I would agree with dec about body brushing every morning towards the heart. Do this before your morning shower, and then massage in body lotion after your shower, again working towards the heart.
Just a thought about the dress, can you have a look at the seams, is there anyway the dress could be let out a little? I have a really good dry cleaners locally who do all sorts of repairs on the premises. They have a changing room and you just try your clothes and they advise you. As you have a week to go, if the dress could be let out an inch or so, it could really make a difference to how you feel. (Please don't be offended by this suggestion, I am just trying to put all options to you).
Regarding your feet, try not to sit too long at the reception, but walk around. Can you do some ankle rotations under the table to encourage your circulation? The Body Shop and Clarins make little cooling foot and leg sprays which help to cool and freshen. Most venues are air conditioned these days, so you may find that your feet stay cooler anyway.
Have a great day, Take care Foxie x.

Hi ladies
Wow, that is really some good advice - half of it I didn't know,
Good luck dmb but do remember to have a good time too.
I went out today thinking like a mouse but came back feeling like a horse - couldn't resist the most enormous cream tea, did do a long walk first but not long enough to justify the size of the cream tea

I'm pleased your dress fits DMB, I know you were concerned about it on thursday.
I have also just eaten like a horse, and now feel sick.
Whatever you do next weekend have a lovely time and enjoy it. Now I have a dress that fits me I can't find shoes, I think my feet have shrunk with PMK I have gone from a size 4.5 -3.5, very bizarre

Hi All, Great advice from all of you - I especially like yours Foxie about getting the dress let out a little, so sensible, instead of beating ourselves up, do what is required to feel more gorgeous and follow the rules. We have a new neighbour who apparently does alterations - think she might be my new best friend! Only kidding she seems lovely, and I will be glad to know her better anyway but what a useful person to move in.
