finding a reliable painter in London...help!
      #405996 - 11/06/2009 15:08

Moving to London soon and have bought a flat we really like but woodwork is tatty, especially the windows, and I need to find a painter who will scrape it back, fill it in, undercoat twice etc etc... not slap a coat of gloss on top and charge me a ridiculous price. I'm happy to pay a fair price, I just want a good job done.

But, in a new city, where do I start to find one?

Gill I have a brilliant one too, trust him with the burglar alarm number etc, I asked him does he want to come down south for a fortnight and said he'd love to get away from the kids for a bit of peace and quiet... but his wife's a friend so it won't be happening!

Still hoping someone may have a recommendation...

Mags,
Even if a forumer from Birmingham southwards recommends one, perhaps they would journey to the big smoke?
Work is supposed to be short after all.
Gx
