Walking Women holidays!
      #403414 - 07/06/2009 08:27

I have just booked a short break with the company Walking Women for 4 nights up in Keswick which i am really looking forward to. I just wondered if anyone on the forum has ever used this company before and what they thought of them? As i'm divorced and had no one to go away with ( my two teenage sons can't face another holiday with their mother, i won't take it personally!) this sounded ideal as most women go on their own apparently.

Maybe you could have asked if any Forumers wanted to join you !
Maybe you didnt want company ....but seriously some Walking groups.... went on a holiday abroad together this year and are talking about going on another holiday next Spring....i think i may prefer to go some where like the Lake district and 4 days seems long enough....PM me if you want to chat some ,more!

Thanks Angel!

I'm not going until 6th August, although that will be here before we know it i'm sure, but i will keep you posted as to how it goes. I discovered Walkingwomen online and thought it sounded a great way to meet new people as well as walk which i really enjoy. I also love the Lakes so it all sounded ideal
Julie

Sounds a great idea Jules hope you have a great time. My D and I go on holiday together as OH goes golfing with his friends and S not interested like yours to go away with mum. Must make a note of website as Im sure a day will come when D wont want to holiday with her mum although she did once say to her brother that she would always go on hols with me as it is free!!!

I can relate to that as my sons both said before that they'd always come with me as it was free. Then they got to 16 and 19 and it's just not the done thing to go with mum anymore. To be honest i'll be glad of the break from testosterone!! Lol

Hello - yes, I've been on several Walking Women breaks over the past few years and am a big fan! The guides are always very welcoming, and most women go on their own so it's a good way to meet new people. I've stayed in some wonderful guest houses & pubs and have found it a nice mix of social and walking. And because it's a group of women there's no macho dashing up hills - everyone finds their own pace but the group stays together. Have a great time!

Thanks for the reassurance. I am sure i'll have good time. It's just nice to know that someone else has been with them before and had a good time.
