Limoncello's, Italy update.............
      #400264 - 31/05/2009 21:33

..........didn't know where to put this so put it here.

Right..............as someone has said it looks like Limoncello only has 4 double rooms but did say she might be able to accommodate more. Have sent her a pm to see.

Have also asked if there is another B&B close by that we could use and then maybe "picnic" for dinner in her place with her.

Price is for April/May - £40 per person per night for B&B. 3 course dinner is 20 euros (with wine 25 euros). Some of the airlines do not go to Brindisi till May and some don't go direct. Some go to another airport about 50 mins away so this would mean minibus or something.

I am going to look into airfares in next couple of days and see what the cost is. As we are all a bit "strapped" in the financial area I thought that 3/4 nights maximum would be the most we could probably manage - might even have to keep it to 2/3. BUT it will depend on how often the flights are to the area.

Will keep you informed.

Have just heard back from limoncello that there is a place opposite her that has 8 mini apartments which sleeps 16-20 people. So 8 could stay with Limoncello and the rest across the way.

Does this sound ok to you all?????????????

She has also given me details of air lines etc.

Limoncello here,
Dinner is 20 euro's including wine!
Sometimes 25 euro's if it is a 4 course meal but this always includes 1 litre of house red or white per couple!
Hope this is OK, and naturally all food is home made and mostly organic...hence I'm not on the forum so often in the season.

I really want to go to Limoncellos but she only has accommodation for 8. But I am still up for it with 7 others. Like you dizee I would have to save and so I was really thinking of next May.

I have found out that the air fare with Alitalia is approx £130 return. Limoncello has already told me that the accommodation is between £40-80 depending on when we go.

Next question would be how long to go for?

Limoncello............... thanks for all information.

Limoncello has also informed me that there are 8 mini apartments opposite her that can take 16-20 people. So if everyone who said they were interested are really definite we could all go but would have to split between the two places.

BUT if noone is interested in staying anywhere else other than Limoncellos then somehow only 8 people can go.

How is that going to be accomplished???????????? I have no idea............

Hi Thimble and Limoncello,

I have replied to another of your threads about this, and would LOVE to go. I adore Italy, and really don't mind where I stay, (so long as the bed is reasonably comfy, and there is a shower nearby) or with whom I share... If we manage to pull this off, it would be fan-blimming-tastic!!!!!

Getting excited already!

PS. I wonder if Cinderella would be able to make it from Rome?

Vinca ...... I am happy to share also. There are some options around now - oh god what have I started!!!

I for one would love to go to Italy for a few days and especially stay at Limoncellos lovely villa.

So perhaps you and me, dizeeblonde also really wants to go.

Now that other ideas are being floated we will have to see what everyone's preference is.

Hi Ladies,
Just looked at Limoncello's webpage - wow!
My OH retires this December so maybe I could treat him as a surprise next year some time. Depends on the finances now that Gordon B has ruined our pension funds - Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I shall be watching how you ladies get on with your holiday arrangements - good luck.
Ciao

Well ladies............... Limoncello can put up 8 people but I had quite a few pms from people saying that they felt it would be too expensive for them once you add on the flight and evening meal. I personally didn't think so but noone else came back to agree with me so I dropped the idea.

Also there was talk of a Barcelona meet or Brittany one. Obviously most of us could only think about doing one so I should imagine everyone is waiting to see what else transpires and who is organising it.

I offered to do Italy. So if there are 8 of us who do not think it is too expensive then pm me and I will get back on to it. I think I worked out that with a 3 night stay, airfare from London, evening meal and spending money it would be approx £500.
