Afternoon everyone.........thought I would find out how we are all doing. Are we struggling or finding that we are sssssoooooooooooooo determined that is quite easy.
I made some lovely chicken and veg soup today from a recipe put on forum. It really needed some salt in it but as I am not really allowed any (blood pressure) I persevered. It was nice though. Then I had a banana
Tonight I am having chicken breast which is marinating in lemon juice/olive oil/garlic and herbes de provence. Having it with 1 roast potato some brussels and peas. Apple and satsumas during evenng.
What about you ladies............have you been good...what are you having or have had today.

Hi Thimble
I haven't had chocolate for a week and have a raging headache - it must be cold turkey! I had a home made healthy sandwich rather than a M&S mayo loaded one and have beef in beer waiting for me at home in the slow cooker, not sure I'll only have one roastie though, but I will skip the dumplings. Your chicken sounds like it will be very tasty.
Good luck with the diet

don't know about that......I tend to have a reputation in this house for things not turning out right if I don't follow a recipe. Usually when I say I just "put it together" there is a definite groan from son and OH.
We will see. Your headache definitely sounds like withdrawal. I understand you get it also from cutting down on coffee.
Stick at it..........like the sound of your beef in beer.
When I say one roastie...........it is one potato cut into 2 so you might think 2/

I've been quite good but it's hard, I'm just cutting down the carbs and trying to follow Paul McKenna's golden rules about not over-eating...if you concentrate it does work but if you don't you just go back to stuffing it in your mouth and swallowing without tasting the food. So my mantra is eat slowly. I don't feel so bloated I must be honest.

Hopeless! I've got horrid cold, sneezing all over the place, sore throat, my face & ears hurt! I haven't eaten chocolate since my pledge on here on 29th but I did have toast & honey for my lunch, well honey is really good for your throat, the butter isn't though.....I KNOW HOPELESS! I'll have to back out of this first week and hopefully start with a vengeance next week.....

chipmunk.........repeat after me....."I hate fish, chips, mushy peas with bread and butter". Keep repeating it over and over then start repeating "I love anything healthy, salad, jacket pots, yoghurt, veg, fruit and I also love being slimmer"............ there that should do it..
Hold on must dash just off for some fish and chips!!!! hahahahaha only joking. Well I have to say I am impressed you all sound as if you are being so good..........hard and not very enjoyable at this time of year but just think forward to summer!!! All those tight shorts, skimpy tshirts, bikinis. You will be pleased then....

Back to work today so allbran and milk for breakfast. Lunch was at our local Benedictine Abbey and I had 2 tablespoons of rice, 1 tablespoon of mushrooms in a tomato sauce and a small portion of Lancashire hotpot followed by a banana. It was not a day for salads....much too cold. Now think I shall have a boiled egg for tea, then some fruit before opening my new excercise DVD and I may even try it out. Shall have to make my own lunch tomorrow so will plan carefully and organise that tonight.

Hi All.Well,I'm doing o.k so far.Porridge for brekkie and necterine, made my own veg stirfry for lunch, and lentil soup and two slices bread with TEENY spread of Flora for tea. Snacked on cucumber and fruit. Drank 2.5 litres water and went to the gym...just nicked a button off my youngest though!Mmmmmmm....Do you all always eat porridge? I wonder if their sales go through the roof in January when we are all trying to be healthier? Lets all keep up the good work.Oopsi.

I am in for it now with Mrs T...........she will really smack me...............but I blame it on my avatar talking not the pretty sparkly pink elephant...

I was a really good girl yesterday and today up until 4pm when I accidentally bought a bounty from the vending machine and accidentally ate it. Then I put on the saucepan to make some healthy soup and accidentally found the left over brie in the fridge which goes out of date after today and because of starving children in Africa (as I was always told by the nuns in my catholic primary school) I turned off the cooker and finished off the brie with crackers. Now cosied up on the sofa with the left over choccie biscuit box and have accidentally nearly finished the lot. It's all my daughter's fault for not taking all the naughty food back to Uni and now I feel a little bit sick!
