Hi everyone!
Haven't done my daily walk yet, as I had to get to work earlier than I thought this morning and haven't been on the wii either.
I was talking to my friend about the pain in my neck and down my back and she said it sounds like whiplash cos of my fall on the ice..I did go down with a bit of a jolt.My legs are Ok..I do try and do a few stretches before I walk.
Went to argos to buy pedometer in my lunch hour, but they only had a cheap one and i dont find them any good...so will look in a sports shop...oh , but I bought a skipping rope in Argos !
I do seem to be "going for it" this week don't I?I am hoping that by posting on here I will be motivated for longer than I usually am in January and that exercise (particularly walking ) will become part of my life!!
What a great idea to post how many steps we have done each day..don't think I will ever beat Chilla , though!!

Chilla's feeling proper sorry for herself today having come down with a mild case of sniffles, but coupled with the rotten weather and the 5 days of the month when I get Mittelschmerz, I'm feeling grumpy. At the moment I'm on 9701, suppose I'll gt over 10,000 on a point of principle, but I feel utterly Donald tonight.
It's worth waiting to get a decent one, Bloss. I f you get a rubbish one, you'll get disillusioned because it doesn't count properly and then you'll use it as an excuse to give in.

Sorry you are feeling grumpy and sniffly Chilla, get a good nights sleep and you will be back bouncing along with the dogs before you know it. Blossom, ok I am going to walk but no way am I joining you with a skipping rope! That brings a mental image of my wobbly bits definately wobbling! Hope you had a good walk, and a good night, at the pub Dec. Steps so far today 10036. I'll make sure I fit in the extra before bed!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling too well Chilla....that would be my ultimate excuse for not exercising!!
I am still "on a roll" with my walking ...I strolled round Tesco and then oh and I walked at a fair lick for 40 mins...not counting steps yet, but that will come!!
WB the skipping rope was an impulse buy , as it was on offer in argos near the cheapo pedometer...it probably wont get used, unless i want it to tangle up in my light fittings (I wont be skipping in the garden in this weather!

Still sniffling, so given myself permission to have the day off from the pedometer. Dogs grumbling in the background though may force me to go for a wander.
Never, never to the skipping. Far too much bouncing . it was a great disappointment in life to find out that Sally Gunnel lied about the effectiveness of the Shock Absorber bra, I mean if you can't trust Sally Gunnell, who can you trust

You'll have to go for the old trick of using the photocopier furthest away from you, parking you car in the furthest corner of the car park, marching on the spot, walk at lunchtime, going to see people instead of e-mailing them.
If you don't achieve today, add your shortfall on to tomorrow!

Thursday. Morning everyone. Sorry you are feeling poorly Chilla.I hope you feel better soon. Blossom,I've also got a skipping rope somewhere but am a bit useless at it now.I can't blame my boobs,I think I lack coordination. It is supposed to be one of the best ways of keeping fit though so perhaps I'll give it a go again.I'll need to find it first though. My OH is now wearing his pedometer again and has got caught up in the whole thing. We are also going for a nightly walk and this weather has been perfect for that.We did a 3 mile round walk to the pub last night, had 1 drink, mine was a cup of tea,and headed home again. My score yesterday was 10800 steps and his was 13000.We are choosing a pub a bit further away tonight ,it's giving a whole new meaning to going on a pub crawl! How did you do Whitley Bay?
Do you think you could make this a weekly post Blossom, divided into daily sections so that we can keep a sort of daily journal? A bit like The Flabuless posts? It would be a great motivation for us all.
Have a great day everyone. Decx

hi dec, what a good idea to have a weekly post.
I first got into the pedometer when I joined Fitbug, they have a website and hence I refer to my pedometer as a bug. It's all about moving more and they offer challenges, stuff on healthy eating, create leagues that you can join and it really motivated me at the time. There was also a forum that was really good, but as happens from time to time, there was a load of bickering at one point and then it went very quiet. My sub ended in December, so i'd love to join another league to keep me going.

Well, you learn something every day...Mittelschmerz, just wikipedia'd it! I didn't know it had a name...how do you find these things out?
Anyway, I'm up for a league...haven't got my 'bug' yet but when I do it I'll be raring to go...

Good idea about having a section on this, count me in.I will need massive motivation when I return to work next week. I went walking this morning with a bunch of men, it was fantastic! Well if I am truthful they were nestled, down with my pedometer, and they sang to me as I walked. Justin T. Ricky M,Jimi H and all of the Divo boys.I sang along with them when I thought I was alone and scared the dogs in the park! Dec yesterday I hit my new target, so today I am going for 10054! I still have a long way to go to catch you guys up.

So Whitters, in one post you are boasting about how many men you have and in the next that you are horizontal. is there only me that can see the connection???????
Ashbee, Mittelschmerz, if you are eve 'lucky' enough to get it, you soon lear all about it. Can never understand why my thighs hurt though . Fortunately I don't get any PMT, so i s'pose I can't complain.

I've just ordered 2 more fitness DVDs from EBAY.Colleen Nolan and Joanne Hall ,both bargains,so I'll be having a little variety in my life. They will be useful for rainy days. Decx
