Sick chick seeks sympathy!
      #297397 - 05/01/2009 15:27

My d went away for a few days after Christmas and came home on New Year's Day having sent the previous night throwing up (it was a strictly organised youth holiday and no alcohol was involved!) Since she came home, I have been obsessive about hand washing, particularly after touching anything of hers but it was no good. Winter vomiting virus has arrived -I spent all last night upchucking etc (too much info not needed) and today I feel really really ill. Ive tried reading a couple of posts but can't manage it. Please send me some get better thoughts!

Love to every one from your sad sick sorry for herself friend, Chickadee!

Sorry to hear you're poorly chick.

Same happened to me - Son had the winter vomitting thingy too, and despite following him around with a packet CIF antibacterial wipes, I succumbed too.

Now I have his cold, too! Hope you're feeling better soon. x

Oh Chickadee. Here comes loads of sympathy! Poor you. What a nasty thing to have! You just look after yourself and take it easy. Speaking as someone who has a phobia about anything to do with vomiting, this is nightmare stuff for me and I feel very sorry for you!
I read in the paper that you can catch this virus just by speaking to someone who has it, so that's why your handwashing etc didn't work!
Hope you feel much better very soon!
By the way, have just read Kate Atkinson's new book and loved it!

Now get under that duvet, but keep a bucket nearby.

Get well soon, Chickadee!

What a miserable start to the new year!

I had deja vu this Christmas, a cold that lasted the first half of December came back with a vengeance on Boxing Day and loves me so much it doesn't want to leave me! Exactly the same thing happened at the same times in 2007!

Hope you feel better soon.....

You have all my sympathy - it sounds like a ghastly bug, but one small consolation is that it's not supposed to last long. Take care, keep warm, and try to keep sipping water. Take rehydration salts, if you can bear it.

Sainsbury's mag remedy

Hot gin! Gin, lemon juice, hot water, sugar or lemon to taste. Sounds good!

Thank you so much everybody - all your good wishes have surely done their work as I'm feeling a bit better today - and reading them made me smile, which is the best medicine of all. I don't quite feel up to hot gin yet, but I certainly ought to weigh less!

'Flat' coke is another recommended remedy for upset tums!
Not as appetising as hot gin but worth a try!
Pleased you are 'on the mend'!
