Hi everyone, Sorry I missed you yesterday, but I've just read the thread. I know I've put weight on over Christmas - I usually put on about 4 lb, so I'll be very sorry if it's more and relieved and surprised if it's any less! Monday will be the wake-up call!
Meanwile, I looked back at mjm's post for the start of the Falbuless forumers - Day 1 - and thought I'd repeat it here - it reminds us that the most important thing controlling our behaviour is not what we do, but what's going on in our heads!
Quote:
Day 1
Begin with the end in mind, start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
Today it begins- the first day of what will be an entirely new relationship with your body.
Close your eyes and imagine that it's 90 days from now, see that slimmer , happier you, and step in to that body, and feel what its like, to be that person. The more you do this, the easier it will become to visualize it again and again throughout the 90 days, and every time you do it, you are reprogramming your mind for success.
I think I'm on the road to the new relationship with my body, but I don't feel that I've got there yet..but onward and upward we go!
PS Does coughing count as my exercise?

Morning Chick - poor you! Do you have the lurgie?
I am working on feeding everything "good" to OH and son (they are both very thin no matter what they eat). I want the cupboards clear of temptation for Monday. I have put on weight over Xmas (dreading the weigh in ) and I know I haven't applied the rules but I will get back on track and I will be that slimmer me.
I missed the start of FF - I joined very late - so thanks for finding Day 1 and reminding me.
Have a lovely day everyone.x

Morning Chickadee and Patsy.
Thanks Chickadee for reminding us of mjm's quote on Day 1 -I missed Day 1 as well, so it was good to read it.
I'm definitely on the road to a new relationship with my body - it's just been a bit of an off/on relationship of late! Must commit! Seriously - I do feel as though I am developing a new relationship with myself and the way I eat and am looking forward to seeing some progress in the coming months.
Have a good Saturday everyone. xx

Hello every one, gosh 90 days for a new body well sort of!!!
A lovely quote for day 1, thank you for posting it again. I also have only recently joined but it did inspire me this morning, so much so that Springer Spaniel and I went marching over the heath the ground was so crisp and frosty!!
I think I need to read the quote continually today, just to keep me moving!
Tonight tho we are off to a concert which I'm looking forward to
Enjoy your weekend and MONDAY is another day!!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have struggled!
There was an interesting article in the times recentlya bout research which has shown that obesity is in some way genetically determined - not because we have genes that make us fat, but because we have genes that make it easier for us to behave in a way that encourages weight gain. In other words it really is all in the mind!

Afternoon Ladies
I weighed myself and i have put on 4lbs, will weigh again monday am to see if the scales were wrong, i am going to change the battery in them lol. ( well you never know, lol)
But i too know this year i will be slim fit and healthy that is my mantra.. I stock piled with fruit and veg today, so i am on my way -
Can i just ask what do/will you choose to eat when you go to supperclub meets. Ours revolve around food, which is okay but how do i avoid temptation, any ideas ladies or is it salad.

Thanks for that Chickdee...i started on the Flabulous Forummers and then fell by the wayside.
I was thnking of starting a thread in which we could share ways we have "Moved more"..not just going to the gym, but doing everyday things that get our bodies moving.
Research has shown that we need at least 30 mins of exercise a day (crikey!! who gets that !!?) BUT the thirty minutes can be broken up into ten minute sessons of heart rate inducing exercise...it has to be at least thirty minutes.
Any ideas?
Here are mine
Walk briskly from your front door for 5 mins, then turn round and come back
Vigorous housework (combine with Twiddling!
Get on your childrens Wii game
stride up and down the stairs
jog round the block or down the lane
skipping
use your childs tramoline
use tinned tomatoes (or other tins) as weights and use tem while watching tv.
I will put his on another post too...any ideas welcome!!

Afternoon everyone. I am not a day 1 flabuless forumer but you all made me feel welcome and not a freak when I put weight on.Thankyou Chickadee for posting this. Yes the kitchen cupboards will be emptied of the junk and tempting food. OH has just weighed himself and was shocked to see what he is, he never does weigh himself, but we was looking at the Christmas piccies and was surprised what he looked like( I still think he is georgous) soooo he is going to loose weight with me.That might be fun (maybe not)he has never had to loose weight in his life until now.lol Enjoy the rest of the weekend and let's make mjm proud xx
An idea for Monday ladies lol

Thanks for posting, Chickadee. I've been thinking that it would be a good idea to revisit the original posts so I like what you've done.
Linby, I LOVE your picture, what a brilliant idea. That'll be me on Monday!
Blossom, I got a Wii fit for Christmas to use with YS's Wii. This afternoon I'm off for some retail therapy with DIL, while our menfolk are at the footy. You can walk miles round an outlet village.
BQ, when you go to supperclub, don't think about what you eat! Choose whatever you want, eat slowly, enjoy every mouthful, and stop just before you are full. That's the secret.
Gilley, Alex and Patsy, I've not only fallen off the wagon, I've rolled some way down the hill it was climbing up! But I'm going to enjoy myself while my family is here and start again on Monday, because as Twinkle says, Monday is another day.

Hi Everyone Chickee - thanks for posting and reminding us all. A very inspirational post for the beginning on the year.
It's very cold and icy outside at the moment. The sky is a pale blue and the sun is out so it does look really beautiful, but it is cold. I walked around to the library this afternoon and was glad to get back home. We've taken down the Christmas tree this morning too, so it really feels like a new start to a New Year.
Nice to read all your posts - good luck everyone. Foxie x.

Hi everyone, I know it's a bit late in the day and I've not got much to add to what's already been said but I'm here anyway! Blossom, you asked for movement ideas,an idea that I read in R. Conley's book is don't sit and watch adverts on TV.Get up and walk round instead or,better still run up and down the stairs. Park your car a bit further away from your destination than you need to and walk that bit further. I've just found the pedometer that I've had for a couple of years and I'm going to use it again. It really does help to have a bit of a competition with yourself! I also have ankle weights that I haven't been using so I'm going to get them out again.Carrying the extra weight burns more calories. We will all be much fitter and healthier by the end of 2009.We can do it.And let's all tell ourselves that we are already gorgeous at whatever weight we are.Have,in Sella's words,a pampering pause every day because we are so worth it! Just as well that I had nothing to say because I've certainly rambled on enough.Enjoy your weekend everyone. Decx

Dec..good idea, to move around when the adverts are on...i usually change the channel !
I have just come back from a half hour run / walk and feel so much better. It makes me want to make healthy food choices too.
I have not found a pedometer that really orks...one I had used to count steps I never took ...it would register if I went over a bump in the road when I was driving!(I suppose I couls have just taken it off in the car.
