I've used my epilator....
      #291943 - 30/12/2008 21:24

it was fine. In fact I thought it was brilliant and wish I had bought one years ago. I didn't find it too painful at all...much nicer than shaving that's for sure.

So...thanks to all of you girls for your advice and whoever told me to go for a good make...special thanks!!!

You obviously get what you pay for!!!!

Not that I paid for it....

Hi Cuppy and Summer,

I also had one a while ago, but it was so paintful I chucked it out. I liked the sound of them Cuppy, can you tell us the make of the one you have, as I would be interested to try a more upto date one.

Well Plasmo...I have a Braun epil..something or other...I forget...I'll look tomorrow but Mr C is asleep and I don't want to disturb him cos he's not been well..

Truly I found it fine. I have very soft smooth legs now...it was NOT painful..just a funny tingly tugging...

I'm really pleased with it and would thoroughly recommend it.

I do think it's a shame though that the only way to try one is to buy one...if you see what I mean. I suppose there is no way round that really...shame though!!!

I find them totally painless and efficient.

After a couple of paracetamol and a double G&T

Hi sonata...it 'plucks' the hairs out from the roots rather than cutting them..

Ooooo eerrr. Does it take longer for them to grow back then? I'm fed up with seeing rusty disposable razors hanging round our bathroom.

I've had one for about 20 years, I think they're great after using it all these years the hairs have got weaker and considerably sparcer, so it was really worth using it.

Like Cuppy I have a Braun Epilator and I can also recommend it. I have had the Braun Silk-epil Xelle for about a year now and and wouldn't go back to razors again. My main reason for getting one is that the constant shaving of my legs (which I used to do every other day) made them so itchy that it used to drive me mad! I honestly don't find epilating painful, the only downside I have found is that you can sometimes get ingrowing hairs, but provided you exfoliate regularly you shouldn't get this problem. I wouldn't necessarily agree that you have smooth skin for up to 4 weeks though (which is what they advertise), but I think anything has got to be an improvement on constantly using razors.
