Just wondering if you've considered running an article on bullying at work? I have been the target of a bully at my place of work for 2 years and my life has been absolute hell!

I was speaking to a friend of mine last week. She has been off work with stress for 4 months because of bullying. I don't think she would feel up to discussing it but it is very nasty and all too common now.

Try speaking to your local branch of ACAS Susan27 they have a special Bullying helpline and can advise you how best to deal with this. Feeling bullied at work is horrible and stressful you should not put up with it a day longer. Seek some help

Susan27 I know what you are going through. I was bullied at work in my last job. I was shocked to discover that the woman who was bullying me had a reputation within the Company for bullying staff and nothing had been done about her.
I suffer from migraines and the stress of the bullying gave me the worst migraines that I had had in a very long time. The bullier also suffered from migraines. I was diagnosed by 3 different GP's in my practice with work related stress. My boss did not believe in work related stress and told me that it was not possible to get it. The bullier also suffered from migraines. She told our boss that I did not suffer from migraines as my symptoms were not the same as hers.
She bullied me by undermining me at every opportunity and by over loading me with work until it got to the stage that I was not coping. I told one member of staff in the Company about the bullying. It was her that told me that the woman had a reputation for bullying.
After I got sacked from my job for apparently not being well - when in fact I had been very unwell, I lodged a complaint with the Company HR Manager. Within 24 hours, I had an email from her to ask if I was taking the matter further - to a tribunal. I told her no as I wanted nothing more to do with them.
I have been bullied in the workplace in 2 separate companies. It is a horrific experience to go through. I will give you the advice that I was given by our family lawyer. He told us that if you are ever bullied or harassed at work to keep a diary. Write down everything that has happened. If the bullying is via emails, take a print off the email. Do NOT under any circumstances tell anyone at your work that you are keeping a diary. Do NOT under any circumstances let the diary out of your sight.
Have you considered going to HR? HR take a very very dim view of bullying. I agree with you, W & H should write an article of bullying in the workplace.
I hope you get this resolved. If I can be of any help or support, please send me a PM.
