Good Morning to Mrs Twiddle and all Twiddlers. 
Well,as per 1944 today is laundry day,and should be the last before Christmas!!(I wish)

In Lavatory : Flush and brush the lavatory pan daily. Rinse the brush and hang to air outside if possible.

I can do the cold luncheon, I'm off out minxing with my Mum and Sis for lunch then I have to do the ironing when I get back.

Brushing and flushing daily is in excess to the 'use' of.

Yes!....We are all slow learners!!! I have a friend who has a notice in her loo that says " Flush and Brush after use"! I think it is there for her two sons benefit!!!
I have another friend(strange lot my friends!!?) who has a notice over the bath saying "Please don't make your p**** hair public"!!!! Just to encourage her family to leave it as they find it!!!
Phew!!! Fortunately my latest mattress came with instructions not to turn over at all!!!!(It has a layer of memory foam on one side only) So please can I be excused that one?
All that dusting and paint washing will only get done if I never,ever go out to lunch with anyone!!Forummers included!!! Sorry.....my mum used to say.."It will still be here long after I am gone!" A bit morose but some truth in it 1944 manual or not!!!(I am sticking my tongue out....at the book not any of you of course!)
Hoping for a relaxing time over Christmas. Do we get time off Mrs Twiddle?

You most certainly do Mayday,my little book tells me that the clever housewife will not let a small child turn her house into chaos,but it takes time to learn and establish a pattern.
It also quite clearly states that a 'good wife and mother recognises the needs of her family,before her house,and a clever and considerate husband also recognises the needs of his wife at such busy times as Christmas,and will do his utmost to entertain the children and or houseguests whilst the 'Special Dinner of the day'is prepared cooked and served. He will then take it upon himself to do most of the heavy washing up,whilst his wife then spends time with the children so that their meal is digested. After this,it is considered,that a healthy walk be the order of the day,weather permitting.
On return the children are given a light tea,time to play with their new toys,before a bath and then to bed to redress the balance of their exciting day.!!
Don't you just love the way with was written. Oh for the good old days.

No I refuse point blank. How on earth is one ment to turn a king size mattress on your own and each day!?
I think I need Mrs Twiddle's help.
Still carpets washed and new lounge curtains hung.
Thats my work done for today and until the kids, cats and OH mess it up again tomorrow!!

It conjures up a wondeful picture Annemari!! In this house all the men get to share the washing up!! (usually just OH) on Christmas Day there will be OH,Son in Law,Son In Laws' Father. Do you think the three of them will manage? No Children around on Christmas Day though. There might be a walking party after the washing up....if the weather permits!!...and if it is not dark!!! Depends what time lunch is served. I can't believe it is only two days to go! I hope our guests don't examine the paintwork!! The Loos(Three of them) will be in good order though!!

They certainly did Loo,but it was not called a Patio,but a Garden Terrace.
Off to do the final room in house-keeping now on another post.
