Pam suggested setting a regular date so that we can all try to keep it free. What do you think? We could go for something like the third Sunday of the month (TTSOTM). Is Saturday or Sunday best for most people?

Carey suggested a town meeting for January so that if the weather was bad we could shop and drink coffee instead. What about visiting Market Harborough on Saturday 24th? (Saturday is probably better for shopping than Sunday). Market H has some lovely clothes shops and very nice cafes too. Just a suggestion, let me know what you think.

I wish you all a merry Christmas and All Good Things in 2009.

Penny

TTSOTM sounds like a great idea to me - Saturday or Sunday doesn;t make a lot of difference.

Am more than happy to meet in Harborough (obviously!) but wonder whether we would be better somewhere where it is all indoors just in case the weather is particularly nasty. That said, Harborough does boast a fine selection of cafes.

Would somewhere more north of the county be a better bet for more of us?

I like the idea of All Good Things in 2009 Penny - you too x

I take your point about the indoor venue. Perhaps we should keep Harborough for a summer outing. What about Leicester or dare I suggest Meadowhall?! We could meet somewhere to share transport.

see you soon

I am unable to come on 24th as I am in Scotland but please ignore this as most of you seem able to make that date. I, too, hope you all have a Christmas which you can enjoy and look forward to enjoyable outings in 2009 Val

Hi Penny

I quite fancy Meadowhall as I have never been! 24th is ok with me.

have been to meadowhall and it is certainly a good shopping/eating experience, and fits the bill of being indoors!
am happy to lift share/collect too, and 24th is good as well.

Hi All

Good idea re fixing the date, I'll go along with the majority on which day. Is the next meet shopping on 24th Jan? Venue to be confirmed? Or am I reading it all wrong!
xx

Yes I think Saturday 24th is the popular choice! (Sorry Val but Scotland sounds even better than Meadowhall). I'll count up the replies around 18th January and we could share lifts if everyone is comfortable with that.

See you all in 2009

Penny

A couple of ladies PM'd me to say that they couldn't make 24th so I wondered whether 31st would be a better date for everyone (and it's my pay day!). Please let me know which date is better for you and then we can make arrangements as to the time etc.

Thanks

Penny

Just adding a post to get this nearer the top of the list!

I'm making a right pig's ear of this, what with trying to change the date, and now I've lost track of who can make which day. I shall have to check my PM's and get back to you with the verdict re most popular date. Sorry (again)

Penny

I checked my PM's and I have 4 people who can do 31st and only 3 for 24th so we'll go with 31st. It's my pay day too so that's good. I thought we could get a bite to eat or a drink at the food hall (if it's still there, it's years since I've been to Meadowhall). How about meeting at Meadowhall at 11:00 or we could car share. I got a parking ticket once when I left my car at the services for the day so we would have to meet somewhere more tolerant!

Any ideas would be welcome. See you soon!

Penny

Thanks Ellen,

I won't mention the names as people sometimes get upset if the info is too personal but I think the people who are interested live in Groby, Glenfield, Coalville and Harborough so we could meet at County Hall perhaps or at someone's house in Glenfield. Just a thought as Glenfield is quite near the M1

speak soon

Penny
