I was given a little sample tube of moisturiser scented with it - my hands smell lovely.
My father always used to buy me Chanel No 19, and now my ES gets it for me....

Lillie, I do like that perfume..it's a lovely smell but it doesn't last on me.I have now gone back to Safari by ralph Lauren, as it's the only one I have found that does last on my skin.

I love Chanel's Allure but it has got so expensive and I am not that great a perfume wearer that I just get a free spray whenever I'm passing a perfume counter or in the duty free at airports!

I wear it Lillie & quite often get compliments when I wear it. I find it quite light though, so have also got Dior's Midnight Poison for the winter (just need someone to get me the shower gel & body lotion)

I have used this for years it is so lovely. I agree it seems to fade but I think it is just that you yourself cannot smell it. Quite often during the day when I hug people (steady girls) they remark on the lovely perfume. So yes put it on your list ;0) Lola x

Long after you stop smelling perfume on you others still smell it In fact if you smell perfume on you after an hour it means you have put way to much on and it would be overpowering for others Tanya

Raloph Lauren Safari - I was given a bottle of that and think it's 'orrible.
The bottle itself is gorgeous and decorative, so I keep it in the hall and use it as air freshener whenever posh people are expected!

I read in a magazine a few weeks ago that Chanel were doing a special one off of several perfumes created early last century. Obviously not available locally or even on line so when I went to Selfridges on Saturday I looked for them. There they were, 300ml bottles, about 10 or 12 of them. I decided on the Gardenia which was absolutely gorgeous. When I enquired about the price I was told £130. Needless to say I am left with just the memory.

Lillie,
Perfume is one of my weaknesses, I love it. However, in saying that I have never been over keen on Chanel perfumes, although my sister wore Chanel No 5 all her life.
At the moment Im wearing Guerlain's Shalimar, and I love Mitsouki, by the same perfumier, I also love any Annik Goutal perfume, but especially L'Hadrian. A forum friend has recently sent me a sample of a Tom Ford new perfume, she loves perfume also, its called Black Orchid and it is great, I think you can buy it in Space NK, and Selfridges.
I should never have been a PA in my life, I should have run away to Grasse in the South of France, and learnt all about the business from the experts over there. I remember when I was about 40 I fancied a new direction in the job front, and went for an interview as a Christian Dior consultant, unfortunately, I was told I was too old for the position.

I use Coco Mademoiselle also Allure, in fact I like most of their perfumes except the new No 5, prefer the old one.
Plasmo I tried L'Hadrian and really liked the bottom note (is that what it's called) but the lemony top note (again forgive my ignorance) I didn't like. The next time I tried it the bottom note just didn't appear, odd. But I like her other ones but they're so expensive. I like the Guerlain ones, they're all classy.
I've got loads of perfume so I'm not going near a perfume counter for ages - it's hard though.

I can't wear Chanel fragrances - they smell like cat p** on me!! I wear Caleche by Hermes and have done for years. Last year when youngest daughter went travelling she scoured the Duty Free shop in Sydney till she found it and sprayed it on her bear to remind her of home. Aaaawwwww!!

My YD was the Dior consultant in a large John Lewis store for 8 years - was great for moi as got loads of samples and the testers once they were almost empty!
She also did a stint working for Chanel when she returned part time for a while.
Love Dior Homme men's scent - smells very much like Dune, but more subtle. Used to wear No.19 all the time, but am a bit of a perfume junkie and at the moment love all the Prada ones.
Anyone tried the Narciso Rodriguez perfumes - they are lovely and I actually prefer the mens. Always have a big spray and take home a sprayed ribbon when walking through House of Fraser.

Hello Lillie, yes I wear it, and have done for quite a few years. I aggree with Lola, I sometimes can't smell it on myself, but people often comment on how lovely it smells. I think it's absolutely beautiful, a really classic and classy fragrence.

Hello Lillie,
My daughter wears Coco Mademoiselle. It is beautiful, I can always tell when she has popped in and I have been out, it lingers.
I have always worn Chanel No.5, apart from a brief fling with something in a yellow bottle called Kiku and another called Styx, these short affairs were when I was a student and money was short but perfume has ALWAYS been worn 24/7.
I can remember my mother smelling of it as she went out for the evening and when the bottle was empty I would have it. That glass stopper and the feel as you put it into the top of the bottle, and the black cord that held it to the bottle. The whole thing was perfect and the smell....a bonus!!!!
I can't count the number of times in my life strangers have actually asked what perfume I was wearing and how they loved it!!!

Oh goodness Marina, you've brought back memories. Kiku and Styx - I didn't wear them but I sort of remember the fragrance.
Was Kiku by Faberge? Can't remember who created Styx but I think I can still visualise the dark packaging.
I wore Estee by Estee Lauder in my younger days, it's still a nice perfume.

Hi gyp, Kiku Faberge I think, a round yellow bottle? Styx was glorious, so sexy...or cheap!!!!! can't remember I think it was by Coty.
BTW, did anyone see the Dragon's Den episode with the Perfumier who wanted money to bring back forgotten scents? I think there were some retrieved from the Titanic. I wonder if he succeeded?

Annick Goutal's L'Eau D'Hadrien is my absolutely top favourite - I love the citrus notes mentioned. Several of the brand's other perfumes are wonderful as well - eg Eau de Sud.
My other top favorite brand is Miller Harris - particularly their Clementine Vert, and also their Petit Grain and Fleurs de Sel (but these two are really pricey).
Eau Dynamisante by Clarins is my everyday splashing fragrance - helps wake me up!
My strong preference is for citruss-y perfumes - another is Dior's Escale a Portofino. However, did try Tom Ford's White Patchouli yesterday and, to my surprise, liked it on first acquaintance - none of the sweet notes I dislike, and which rule out the majority of popular fragrances for me. Don't like any of the Chanel range.

My signature scent is Opium I have been wearing it for over 20 years and just find it incredibly sexy. During the day in the summer I like Loccitane Ruban orange and Verbena fragrances. they are eau de toilette but are so concentrated I can smell them on me the next day For the autumn/winter during the day I like Hugo Boss Femme and Euphoria by Calvin Klein. I also love Paul Smith Rose and Armani Code. So quite a selection their! Tanya
