The Christmas Mystery. Jostein Gaarder
      #267289 - 30/11/2008 19:35

An ideal pre Christmas read.

Covering 24 fairly short chapters, one to be read each day of Advent, this tells the story of a missing child, but also the story of a young boy who finds an old Advent calender and the past and present interweave to make fascinating reading.

I enjoyed it so much this time last year that I have bought a copy for each of my daughters as a "grown-up" Advent Calendar.

Do any of you know it?

Thanks Nannieconnie, I've ordered it from the Library, as they have a large print version. So much easier to read than looking for glasses.

Brill. I'm "proper poorly" at the moment, with a chest infection-and feeling really sorry for myself. Think I'll send my daughter into town for it, then I can read, and cough at the same time!!!!!!!

Emerald, sorry to hear you are unwell - hope your daughter is able to get you The Christmas Mystery. After work today I went into Waterstone's and I was delighted to find a copy. Thank you for the recommendation, nannyconnie. I think I am going to like this book a lot!
