I've never felt happy wearing low neck dresses and tops. It's not as if I'm a big breasted lady or anything like that, it’s just I can’t stand having a conversation with somebody while they're staring at my boobies. It just makes me feel uncomfortable.
Do you feel happy in low neck dresses and tops?
Do you think there's a time to put them away for good?

Hi Jane,
Yes, I too feel uncomfortable showing my cleavage nowadays, although it's not excessively large I do wonder if many people really want to see a pair of 51 year old boobies on display! I know we've had discussions about Lorraine Kelly's cleavage on here before but she puts me off my breakfast many a day and I don't think it's suitable for that time of the morning to be flashing that much flesh and I 'aint no prude but it's horrible! As for Cilla Black - yuk...she seems to flash more body the older she gets!

Noooooooo Jane I will not be getting my boobies out!
I am not a body flasher at all...I'm very demure!
As for Cilla Black's boobies.....Please just put them away!!!

Loo, I know??.....hopefully there will be some left for Boxing Day!
After8, did you see Cilla when she was parading round in a leotard with flashing lights on her private parts for Children in Need a few years ago?
That was a sight for sore eyes I can tell you!

Arty, if you've got good boobies I think you should jolly well get them out if you want to. Some women look stunning in low cut dresses. It's just I can bear anyone looking at mine. When I was younger I used to get my legs out rather than my boobies, but I wouldn't wear a mini skirt now!

Hi Jane, it's one thing showing a nice peep of cleevage, I think that can look very nice, but I think the pics of Lorraine and Cilla are horrid...toooooooooo much!!!!

I'm with Arty - 47 and 3 kids (all fed by good self) and it is still the best bit of my bod without a doubt. Haven't seen the said pictures of Lorraine and Cilla, but i think it is all a matter of what you are wearing and how. Oh - and those wonderful Bravissimo people always do us proud!
But.......invariably looks better if it is not just for the sake of it (i.e. you like the outfit rather than want to go on show), and if you are uncomfortable - then no - why should you. Whatever we wear we will look great eh girls!

I'm with arty and sar I do have good boobs ( if nothing else LOL) and will show a little cleavage. Don't really now where I stand on Cilla, but am leaning towards why the hell not. Jodie Marsh is the only one I find repulsive, and makes me think put'em away

Hi Everyone,
When I was in my thirties, I thought nothing of showing quite a lot of cleavage, lived in hot country, and not only cleavage but very very short skirts and dresses.
I must admit I do not like to see women of my age flaunting them, but I cant see the harm of a little cleavage if it still is attractive.
Fern Britton shows far too much for the hour that she is on TV I just dont see why they do it, they dont have to.

Oh dear, I didn't know who Jodie thingummy was - had to go and look her up. I didn't know you could be famous just for having big shiny boobs!
A little cleavage with good support to hold it all in place is one thing, but acres of drooping flesh.... naaargh!

Having been too well endowed in the boobs dept. and still not having been brave enough to go for surgery, have always covered mine up and hunched shoulders. It was not until this August when a photo of me duly well covered was taken and a girlfriend commented that I was wearing things that made me look bigger???? that I decided to try alternatives.
A lot of clothes are now cut to reveal a bit of cleavage, just ordinary clothes from normal shops and I went with her and tried lots on the next week.
I must admit that deep v necks and scooped necks that show a bit - I mean a bit -of cleavage do make me look better and smaller ! No one more surprised than me. So now thats what I go for, well not all the time but most times.

These posts made me laugh, I have a red dress that I was planning to wear to the xmas party at work and OH and I have been discussing this very thing, the dress does have a deep v neck and I am not sure I should wear it to my works do. OH says I look lovely and not at all tarty so go for it, but I am not sure I want my colleagues to see the normal me (we have to wear uniform at work collar and tie) so this would be a hugely different persona for me. What should I do, I love the dress and do look good in it, but not sure of the image I would present

Saw the clip and it was absolutely hilarious. How predictable that women stood up all over the theatre and ... That bit did make me feel a bit ashamed of my sex though, although it does show how far we have come in so many ways.
When it comes to showing boobies, how can we not? Everything seems to be low cut these days. I am not used to wearing low cut clothes but then, I have been married for ever and it has not occurred to me to bother before now. As an older woman I think whether to reveal or not boils down to how uncrinkly the chest area is and whether you are bold enough to carry it off.

Mange, is that supposed to be Skippy in your picture?
Ruby, I'm sure the right bra would do it, and you could always try chicken fillets (those things that Trinny and Susannah are always on about). Go for it! Knock 'em dead girl!

I do have one of those gel bras but it is uncomfortable and is so heavy feel like I have a sack of spuds strapped to my chest.
Don't know why I have missed out on the boobies- both my nans had a decent clevage and so has my mum.D's have as well but it seems to have skipped a generation with me.

My little boobs will be coming out for christmas. I'm 51 but they're still pretty healthy. I know they only have a few more years of display life, and my husband promises to tell me when I reach that point (in case I don't recognise it myself). I say go for it - celebrate your assets!

oh this thread is fantastic - really making me laugh!
Serious note Rubyju - Bravissimo is the best bra shop i have ever known - pretty, very well fitted by the nice ladies, and huge choice (well in most except the manchester store which is quite small). How sad am i knowing that!!

Sar, isn't Bravissimo supposed to be for big breasted ladies? I'm a modest C cup and would never dare go in there! I think their cup sizes probably start at DD or something don't they? I think we smaller breasted ladies are probably best off going to M&S!

Hi Jane, i'm C too and always buy from there. It's just the ranges they have allow the bigger ladies to have really pretty bras rather than the fuddy ones that so many try to hoist on larger ladies. Also concluded i must be odd because i can't wear M & S - they never fit me right - which is a pain cos alot of my friends rely on them especially for staples.
Take a look at the website - they even do brill shirts and things that go over and around boobs much better than baggy t shirts etc..........mmmmm think i may ask for commission from them! :-)
