We had another enjoyable outing on Sunday at Thornton Reservoir. I (Val) suggested a Christmassy walk at Calke Abbey particularly the late evening Twinkly Christmas Walk one December Sunday with evening supper in the late opening tearoom. However, I have now discovered the walk will cost about £4 so need some PMs / feedback. If anyone has a better idea please post. Val

Hi Val,

sorry I didn't notice this before. It sounds like a good idea to me, it is Christmas after all! Did you find out when the walk is on? Sorry if your earlier message said, unfortunately this forum won't allow me to scroll up and check!

Penny

Lovely to hear from you all. I can make the 7th December or the 21st. Calke is open until 6.30pm - chldren, grannies etc welcome to come with us ? I thought 3.30ish, tea / talk / shop / twinkly light walk (doesn't take that long - can be slippy) - church look-see / walk back / then proper tea in the tearoom for those that wish. Alternatively earlier about 2.30 / park walk / tea / dark tree light walk

Let me know Val

I notice that 125 people have viewed this - please please please feel free to join us on this lovely light-hearted occasion. We are still a fairly new group - bonding well but would welcome more walkers so please don't be shy. Val

I replied to this earlier but it disappeared! That isn't the first time it's happened either.

I can do 7th and will be on my own. Did you decide what time to meet?

Penny

Sorry I could not make the walk last week. Will try harder in the New Year. Does anyone think it would help to set some dates ?

A merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our walkers!

Pamd
