Hi to friends new and old.
We had a lovely walk (and tea and cake) at Bosworth Battlefield last Sunday despite the rain; it brightened up as soon as went outside. Thanks to Val for organising it.
We have decided to walk around Thornton Reservoir on 16th November, meeting at 10:30 at "the main car park" opposite the nursery. The nursery has a coffee shop & toilet so we may start there whilst we contemplate what the weather is doing! One circuit of the reservoir is 3 - 4 miles and the going is flat (in case any of you are bringing racehorses).
I hope to see you there. I have swapped my yellow summer baseball cap for a pink fairisle hat with ear flaps, but anyone of a nervous disposition can walk a few metres away! Penny

Unfortunately I shall not be able to join you on 16th November as I shall be walking somewhere in New Zealand! I hope you enjoy your walk as much I shall enjoy mine.

Hi Penny0 & Leicestershire ladies
Your walk (& esp tea & cake) at Bosworth sounded lovely. I've recently joined the forum so was too late for that, but was hoping to be able to join the next one. Unfortunately I'm away on the 16th Nov (I'm taking my mum on a Nile cruise for her 70th birthday) so I'll miss that one too
Really hoping there's another one not too long after - I'll keep an eye on the notice board.
PS The pink hat sounds fab

Hi Divadawnie - I am sure some of us will volunteer to take your mum on her Nile cruise if you really want to come on the walk !!!!! We wil need to choose a really special Christmas walk - perhaps Calke or a garden centre to combine with Christmassy feel Val

Hi to you all, Enjoyed coffee at Bosworth Barn. Regret Thornton is that bit too far away for me. Perhaps will meet up again at another walk or supper club. GILL

Hi DivaDawnie (waht a wonderful name) and everyone else. Sorry I haven't logged on for a while, I've had a few things to sort out at home but am feeling much better now. I shall try to find some proper directions before 16th and put them on the forum in case anyone doesn't know where the reservoir is (I don't actually).
See you all next Sunday

I did a search and discovered that the post code of Thornton Reservoir is LE67 1AR and I think the main entrance is on is on Reservoir Road. If I get time before Sunday I'll drive out and look for landmarks but the AA map looked easy to follow (depends where you are coming from I suppose). For anyone that doesn't live near Thornton it is only a couple of miles away from M1 junction 22 (markfield).
7 people have replied to the post or by PM so I hope the weather is kind to us.
