Are there any medical bods out there that can tell me what function protein has in the blood and more importantly what happens when you have low protein. My MiL is very poorly and has been diagnosed amongst many other things with low protein. She's nearly 84 so don't know whether that makes a difference.
Any information would be appreciated.

Butterfly, why not try just putting low protein in the blood in google, I use it for everything and anything! Something may come up that helps.

Butterfly, are you sure they said protein? Did they by any chance say potassium?
Best thing is to speak to her doctor, with her permission, and get the information directly from them.
