Stub your toe. It won't make the toothache better but will take your mind off it for a little while.
Welcome to the Forum. You have come to the right place for advice. I am sure the others will have some good ideas.

What about an emergency dentist? Are they still around? By the way, is it really a toothache? I only ask because I suffered quite badly with (I thought) my wisdom teeth and the pain went after I had some hardened wax (sorry yeuk!) taken out of my ear.

Welcome to the forum.
How about trying Bonjela or clove oil, as well as painkillers, until Wednesday? They might offer some relief.

Oooh poor you! I've just had root canal treatment, so I sympathise! I found chewing a clove helped along with paracetamol.

OOh I sympathise Veronica - I too have just had root canal work but have suffered really bad toothache over the years - there's nothing worse. They always say you'd shoot your grannie if you had a gun and they told you it would take the pain away!!!! I don't find that normal paracetamol works with really bad toothache - you need to get some Co-Codamol from the chemist - a mixture of codeine and paracetamol and that works a treat. Good luck.

I sympathise so much with you... 2 weeks ago I had an abcess under a top tooth and an infection in a bottom wisdom tooth both at the same time.......oooch!! Couldnt eat, or even open mouth to get pills into!! Luckily my dentist got me in as an emergency within 1 hour of ringing!
Apart from the long awaited antibiotics and lots of painkillers (tried Nurofen, but Anadin extra worked better), a warm pillow helped - the sort that is normally for aches and pains that goes in a microwave - very comforting!! My pain now all gone and just awaiting to go into hospital to have the wisdom tooth out (which is impacted - yuk).
Hope you find a solution fast.... nothing worse!! Good luck.

Aspirin is the drug of choice for toothache - thats why anadin worked better than Nurofen. Glad the cloves helped.Cotton wool soaked in whisky or brandy and then bite down on the affected tooth is supposed to help - tastes better than cloves as well!
