Welcome to the forum Indm. I read somewhere that you should see your Dr to determine the cause if your hair is thinning. Apparently there are several reasons that this can happen (eg thyroid problems) and may be treated.
Good luck!

Hi and welcome Indm. I too suffer from thinning hair and unfortunately it runs in our family. I am so envious when I see people with lovely hair as I can't do anything with mine apart from wearing it dead straight and shoulder length. I read about some hair product that Cheryl Baker used (Bucks Fiz) and have forgotten what it was but it isn't cheap so that put me off. I have tried using all sorts of thickening shampoos etc., but nothing makes much difference and I am afraid that I think we're stuck with it and have to find a style that suits it. Having a colour/highlights in it makes a big difference to the thickness as it plumps out the hairshaft a bit so that might be worth considering. It can also be part of your hormones if you are around that age!!!

Hi Indm

A good cut should help, ask your hairdresser for ideas.
I agree that colour or highlights would make it seem thicker.
Don`t worry, you probably think its worse than it looks.

Cheryl Baker advertised Nourkrin tablets which were £50 for a month's supply when I took them a couple of years ago. That is £600 for a year. I thought my hair looked better but not enough to make anyone else think so. My hair is thin on top so I avoid standing under lights where they shine through onto the scalp. I bought Philip Kingsley's book and he goes through all the possible causes of thinning hair in women - thyroid, hormones, diet. After blood tests he says you have work on the diet. Also, someone suggested head massage which sounds like a pleasant way of dealing with it. If anyone has a miracle cure please let us all know.

no miracle cure, I've had thin hair on the top for years, it's hereditory. I've had all the tests from the Dr. I did have Indian head massage for a while, and it seemed to help - and was very relaxing, but hte lady moved and I forgot all about it till now!!!

*heads off to find someone who does indian head massage nearby*
