What shall I give up this week? Bread or potatoes?
      #213710 - 06/10/2008 07:59

Won't be drinking alcohol or having puds until the weekend, but I want to give up something else this week. I'm thinking bread or potatoes but can't decide. Which would you miss the most?

OH suggested green beans. Doh. He doesn't get it, does he.

No, I can't do both, kate. I would be carb deficient and turn into something ... well, carbless!

I think it will be bread as I've got roasters left from yesterday for dinner tonight. Or maybe I could do bread today, potatoes tomorrow, bread the next day...

Or should it just be bread all week..
Decisions, decisions...

Give up Bread Mange, and I will do it with you. I need to knuckle down and loose some weight.

Instead of giving up both can you not make sure you have one carb free meal a day.

Good idea, ButterflyBlue, but I'm going to go cold turkey and give up bread.

Snowy, you're on! I'm having cereals this morning rather than toast.

OK Mange, I've already had my muesli, yoghurt and fruit, but it will be lunchtime I'll want the bread, so I'm going to get the ryvitas out.

Mangetout and Snowey,
I've just logged on and am feeling depressed after forcing myself to get on the scales,I've read this post and decided to join you and give up bread too.
I eat hardly any potatoes so giving them up wouldn't really have any effect at all.
Hope making a public statement will give me a kick start to get going and do something about the pounds creeping on.

Ohhhhh! I should give up both too!!! I find it so hard to give bread up though, nothing else seems to be right for lunch, especially if out are out there isn't an alternative, I'll give up potatoes, and only eat bread this week if I'm out, something has to work soon.........

Well done Dec, and Sunbeam, we may have more success if we do it in large numbers, and can support eachother when we feel a craving. `

Hey girlies. So far, cereal for breakfast and a bowl of soup for lunch. Went for a 2 mile walk and now just had 2 ryvita and cheese.

Having roast beef for dinner (yesterdays leftovers) with roasters but no bread. No wine or pudding either today.

I'm feeling so smug with myself. Slap me somebody.

Ooh, and as a treat to myself, I'm going for a massage this afternoon. Bliss.

You had cheese! Smack!

Seriously, well done! I need to lose weight (not a lot, just the odd stone or two, you understand...)but have zero willpower.
Where do you get your incentive from?
Apart from walking my dog, the only exercise I enjoy is disco dancing by myself to loud music....I should do that regularly.

I've just had a lovely massage to try and get rid of all the knots in my shoulders. Over use of the computer is at fault.

Not had any bread cravings so I'm hoping this will be an easy week.

Just about to cook dinner now.
